Product: Record Sheets: MechWarrior Dark Age I
Rating: 2.00
Comment: Overpriced given how few units are in it compared to previous RS's. It does include a small TRO for 2 new battlearmors and a short story. The designs included are neither better nor worse than previously published designs (which is to say there are a couple with questionable problems). This is also the first time any Level 3 units have been officially published. Units included are basicly all those which were in the first set of the Mechwarrior Dark Age game. Meaning you will not find any of the VTOLs, artillery, or mechs such as the Shadow Cat II or Ghost, that are in the newer sets.

Product: Technical Readout: 3026 (Revised)
Rating: 3.50
Comment: I found this book to almost be as good as the original. I say 'almost' because with this new revised version they decided to remove some of the fluff information that was included with each of the units in the original printing, which was something I enjoyed reading. As well as all the personal equipment. I also found most of the 'new' designs included to be somewhat disappointing given that they have more to do with aerospace than they do with actual vehicles. Not to mention that it is also a good 10$ more than the original for the same number of pages which also more than the recent 3067 TRO which is almost twice its size. Even with what I find to be problems, it is still a very good source of unit information for those who are looking for such.

Product: Map Set Compilation 1
Rating: 5.00
Comment: A very good collection of maps for anyone in need of them. Good even for those that might have the originals, as these are all updated and corrected to fix labeling (or lack there of) problems that were on the previously versions.

Product: Miniatures Rules
Rating: 1.50
Comment: As a 'rule book', this is a very disappointing item. The normal miniatures rules are easily found in other sources. Though it does include 'large scale' or 'quick play' rules that are suppose to help speed up a larger game, but again, disappointing as it fills all of about 1-2 pages worth of this book. The book also includes another set of short rules on how to use MWDA figures in a Battletech Miniatures game as well as how to construct your own terrain. The bulk of this book mostly just contains pictures show casing the paint jobs of various figures and terrain by various artists or just pictures of mock battles using miniatures. If you want rules on how to play a game, you're likely better with the Master Rule book. If you just want to see pictures of miniatures and terrain, this book is for you.

Product: Mercenary's Handbook
Rating: 5.00
Comment: A great book to have just for the sake of having it. A very useful item for its time. However, all information in it now is long out of date. Those interested in it should likely look in the direction of the newer Field Manual: Mercenaries, Revised.

Product: The Sword and the Dagger
Rating: 2.00
Comment: The first novel based within the Battletech universe. Not actually one of the better novels, but certainly not one of the worst. Also the only novel written by this author for Battletech. The story is set at just before the start of the Warrior series by Stackpole and is actually something of the cause of it, as well as sort of a reference point in some of the much later novels. It is also to note, for those more interested in combat than story, there is actually not very much mech combat involved in it. If anything, the worth of this novel is actually more in what it is, than what it reads. That of course being, the very first of the Battletech series.
