BattleMech: Hollander BZK-A1
Rating: 3.00
Comment: Its better than average. Its almost the same as my Pferdman of the same weight class and purpose. I actually ran these numbers at one point and I felt jump capacity was more capable than the 5/8.

However, the capability of mounting Arrows on light mechs is most amusing. In all honesty its never going to stand up to a straight fight, but in utility roles its quite good.

BattleMech: Persuader PER-1A
Rating: 3.00
Comment: Its a strong machine. Its almost identical to something I designed. The strong long range firepower, but at the same time it lacks the heat sinks to really manuver well and fire its long range weapons for any length of time.

For 3025 its a machine I'd slot in a bunch of places but its not quite fast enough to dance with the medium jumpers and its not quite heat efficent enough to last against heavies in a knock down drag out.

Still its a very impressive design, in 3025 time line. I can see it eating a bunch of medium mechs for breakfast if they're not jump capable.

Still keep it away from the assault machines, its only so good.

BattleMech: Dasher HL

Comment: Repeat after me. You can't add armour to a omnimech chassis.

Other than that, it'd h ave to be a custom made non omni mech. Which means no clan would touch it as, thats expensive to send to 2nd line units.

You also now have a less serious heat problem than the Dasher H had, but at the same time with the Heavy Medium your more likely to want to play take for longer since you have some limited range.

THis light mech is a good speedy scout, but overly expensive and not the Omni variant it claims to be. Also, its just as expensive as the actual Dasher Omnimech and only has one purpose so why would it exist?

Especially when Ghost Bear, and the other IS clans are shying away from more expensive Omnis to more things like Thors and Blackhawks.

BattleMech: Lightning LGH-3K
Rating: 1.50
Comment: Thin armour, uncased ammo, XL engine. Expensive and very very vulnerable to the time honoured way of dealign with scouts.

In the open field this scout would excel until someone got lucky and killed it in one shot. In the kind of find the enemy scouting that you frequently have to deal with... its very very poor as it'll die and be an expensive loss.

It doesn't have a heat problem which means it can try and snipe enemy light mechs with its ER Mediums, which is either a good safe idea or really chancy depending on who your fighitng.

BattleMech: Lightning LGH-3K1

Comment: Much less impressive, as soon as this thing attracts real attention when it uses its TAG system. You'll see it die within seconds.

It doesn't have the survivability factor that other mechs have because of uncased ammo, light mech armour, and an expensive extra light engine to boot.

If I had to take a lightning I'd take the stock model but not by much. Most cannon designs seem more capable or more survivable depending on whether you want to keep the XL engine or not.

BattleMech: Quiver QUV - 1A
Rating: 3.00
Comment: Okay, I'm of two minds here. If you have to commit it to your main line battle force your hooped. But only a few mechs (Wolfhound, Panther... etc) can manage to fight in mainline and not get crushed in first volley.

So in my mind the XL engine and a relatively unreliable weapon as your main gun mean your not exactly a kililng machine. As a strictly light support mech its good but expensive. If you can afford the quality its nice, but at the same time there are better machines out there.

About my only complaint is stacking two mediums in the same place in terms of the weapons.

BattleMech: Crab CRB-40
Rating: 2.00
Comment: This chassis managed to double its cost and add 120 meters to its effective range... Which seems to be a down side.

Its more fragile, and with just as bad heat curve as the original. When you get an XL engine you expect a big improvement. I'm not exactly sure how you save 6 tons and don't really get a better ride, weapons or heat wise. The 45 upgrade Crab is a better and cheaper ride in my mind.

BattleMech: Dragon DRG-2K
Rating: 3.50
Comment: I agree that this is more the Grand Dragon feel. But still its an awesome well rounded standard engined design that can most likely match up favourably against all competition even in the later years of 3060.

I'd worry about the heat if I didn't know Kuritan warriors and they're commanders were semi-sucidal to begin with.

Biggest disadvantage is that this is as far as you can go and still have an effective mech. Its out of upgrade paths but still servicable.

BattleMech: Dragon DRG-5R
Rating: 1.00
Comment: Draconis Combine designs usually dont' mount exclusive Davion/Steiner tech.

The time period is 3060, at least thats what should be written. Also you need about SIXTY rounds for a RAC 5 to even be effective for any length of time.

Basically this refit is strange, sort of effective, but no ammo and weird issues (tech/equipment/date) kill it in my mind.

BattleMech: Dragon DRG-6R

Comment: Your still short on ammo for your weapons, and have one medium facing each way to prevent your opponents from completely ignoring you.

Reminds me almost of the problems the Hollander has. Which isn't something you should be able to say about a heavy battlemech which is the pride of a nation.
