The design is pretty good, but it strays too far from the original Barghest. The Barghest was originally designed to carry large-bore auto-cannons, but this design does good at what the fluff says it's supposed to do. That said, I think it could do a little better. Pulses and Streaks are always good against Elementals and Protos. It's just lacking in the long-range area. |

I've never been fond of missiles, they explode way too easily, and there's plenty of ammo to blow up here. However, This is a pretty dangerous design, as long as it stays in the back, where is belongs, because that close-range armament is so small even a light 'Mech would laugh at it. |

This reminds me of the King Crab, but a bit better. The UAC/20s are good weapons as long as they don't jam, and the ER PPC and ER Large are good for long range cover, but I don't know why the pulse lasers are there, the autocannoons are sufficient. I'd suggest replacing the pulse lasers with either extra heat sinks or extra ammo and/or the large laser with another PPC, or switching them to the back. But still, a good solid design. |

This is a pretty good variant on the Nova Cat, but at long ranges, this thing is in trouble. But I've sort of had soft spots for the Heavy lasers. |

The Hatamoto-Chi was always a pretty good 'Mech, but I don't know about this one. The PPCs paired with pulse lasers are good, but double heat sinks would help a great deal here, and upgrading the PPCs to ER wold be a great boon, but all in all, a good in-fighter. |

What were they thinking when they put this 'Mech together!? It doesn't have anything to back up the AC/20. This is even worse than the Banshee 3Q, because the Banshee has more ammo. Overall, I'd give this design a half-point, only because of its AC. |

This is a good design. It has a nice weapons loadout with the Gauss and ER PPC, with 4 medium lasers to keep anyone honest if they get too close. The 5 jj's allow you to stay mobile, and with the single ammo weapon and good armor, extended campaigns aren't really a problem. |

I absolutely love this 'Mech! The twin Gauss Rifles give out good long range punch, and 4 medium lasers to help support them at close ranges. The 2 pulse lasers at the back help alot, but I seriously think they should be switched with 2 of the forward mediums.
The 2 jump jets can get it into cover and back, while the ECM keeps too many unwanted missiles from getting it and the BAP helps rat out hidden enemies. |
