I know I could wait two months and find this out firsthand, BUT, I'm curious.
What tech level will the Darkl Ages game have? I know that many mechs will be using ICE engines (woo), which is a humoungous curveball. Anyone know any other status? Ignoring the click-a-mech side of things, are pulse lasers still about? Gauss riles? All that other freaky tech from the last days?
Are DHS still used, or has balanced been restored between energy and ballistic weaponry once more?
Inquiring minds wanna know!

Hmmm.
Next question, then: Are we going to see Fanpro sourcebooks about this one? IE, Battletech: Dark Ages to the CLick-a-Mech's Mechwarrior: The Dark Ages?
I've piddled about with ICE engines and similar mech designs in the past, and I'm curious to see how my rules differ from theirs. Especially in that it *seems* as tho the time period (3125) is at the end of an enlightened Golden Age, where there were advances in, well ... everything. To see the majority of armed forces retroactively culled is kinda odd.
I mean, hey, I support it, obviously, but I'm curious to see where it'll go.
Heck, I'll go a step further. Hey, Werner? You know peple who know people, right? If there isn't anybody on tap for such a project, gimmie a look, eh? This is like a *dream* project.

There are NO tech levels from what I've seen...you have all your tech 2 goodies, and many tech 3 ones as well, like ICE engines, hardened armor, etc...

That's what I was curious of.
So, ICE engines on the one hand, XL usion, DHS, X-Pilse lasers on the other?
Maaaaan. That's unfair.

OD, I think you're missing an important point: the tech levels really don't matter. Its all going to be reduced to a form of gameplay that does not reflect former Btech at all. The direct comparison you are trying to make is inappropriate.
