On Thursday Mordel and I will be at TotalCon, and the very first event is a "Bring any officially published Tournament Legal 'Mech" battle. P/G skills will be determined at the table, so presume the higher the BV at 4/5 the worse the P/G skills will be.
So, what should I bring?

By definition, custom 'Mechs cannot be "Tournament Legal".

Ahhh... yes they can. Custom 'Mechs follow the same rule levels as Canon ones. The only difference in being the canon designation. If you built a Wraith TR1 with the exact same stats but a different name, it would still be TL.
Now, just because it's TL from a rules perspective, does not mean it would be legal in tournament play. But those are two different things.

Only BattleTech could screw something up as simple as "Tournament Legal"...

Pretty sure they submitted that before I started disallowing names that match canon designs. Or it's also possible they submitted it before I got the canon design onto the site.

Without a doubt. I have seen it referred to as Standard on occasion (and MML uses that term), probably because of the confusion, but TL is used predominantly throughout the books.

He changed the designation from EYL-45A to EYK-45A.
