I normally read the funnies online, and this is one of my regulars.
Imagine my surprise, then, when this vintage "B.C." strip from 6 December 1965 involves one of the characters giving the name "Cranston Snord" to a phone survey.
I wonder now if this is where the name came from, as "Cranston Snord" is rather a unique name... _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." I asked around, and apparently Blaine Pardoe did indeed cite the strip as the source. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." Wolfwood to a random cat (Trigun)

Being an 'Old Guy' (Im 55) I remember reading the old BC comics my dad had that were in a pocket paper back style. Wizard of Id was another that I can recall that was in the same vein but in a medieval slant. Even doing a search using cranston snord prior to 1965 and the only thing that comes back is BT related and way down the page it has a link to the cartoon. Gotta remember that while I call myself old the guys who created all this are older than me.
As an aside, Mordel this site blows my mind
I might be Clanner Scum but I am the Scummiest of the Scum. I belong to the Bandit/Dark Caste (said like taste thats why it has an e at the end). I got the Bloodname while a member of Clan Black Sheep and was sponsored by the holder of the Kerensky name being fought for as he was leaving. I survived the free for all and then out bid my next matches opponents and at the Ceremony for the Naming I told the entire Wolf Clan that the least talented Bandit Caste Mech Pilot just made the Wolves elite look like domestic dogs.

You're not much older than most of us here. And in quite a few cases, you may actually be younger!
As for the site, glad you like it. If there's anything you want to see added just let me know. Wish I was a graphics guy so I could make this site look a little less 1995, but genetics didn't bless me with that skillset. LOL _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Functionality > fluff every time. Yeah those flashy sites look purrty n all but they aint got the content. As far as graphics go, my artistic ability is right there with ya. My stick figures have stunted limbs, lop sided heads and maybe a hunch on occasion.
