Can we get a button or something that displays after 60 secs allowing use to restart or cancel the processing of new units?
I spent an hour yesterday creating, fluffing, and submitting a unit just to have my slow internet connection yesterday to cause all that work to be lost when the unit failed to properly process. I waited like 20 min and it never finished. Eventually, something forced my browser to reload and I lost all of that work. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

Do you mean after you hit save? Something that allows you to close the "processing" dialog? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

yes, after you hit save. And more of something to force a restart of the process or cancel it. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

So that dialog means "I sent my request to the server and now I'm waiting for your response." So it is possible to cancel it. Is there an X on the top-right that could close the dialog? I honestly don't remember. One option is to wait 30 seconds, then show a "Cancel" button or something if the server hasn't gotten back? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

that would due, just have to make sure it doesn't reload the unit page or everything entered gets lost. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

That's not entirely true. There's a "working" table in the database that stores info as you work. Every time you make any kind of change during design it saves an updated record to that table. If you then refresh your browser or even go to create a new unit in an entirely different browser or device, it will load the data from the working table.
Where this fell over in our case is, that "working" data is only stored for 30 minutes before it is pruned. The though is you're recovering from a crash, dropped internet, etc. If you wait more than 30 minutes before that refresh, it will erase the data. Likely what happened is you waited a while, and by the time that refresh happens, 30 minutes had passed. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

that sounds right. So giving a prompt after a minute or two would help avoid that. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.
