Overview:
The Prime variant for the Perseus P2 would be based off of the original P1 prime
configuration. Despite the intention from the beginning for the P2 to utilize available mix
tech in its configurations. The Prime would be purposely configured with strictly Inner
Sphere technology. This would be done to address concerns with maintaining a steady supply
of Clan-Tech weapons. It would prove to be an astute decision. In many cases while pilots
would be eager to utilize one of the clan-tech supported variants, it simply wouldn't be
available due to equipment shortages. So while the Prime variant wasn't necessarily the most
popular variant it would prove to be the most widely encountered during the first years of
production, earning the prime variant the moniker of "Old Reliable".
Capabilities:
The P2 Prime configuration would feature an Ultra AC 10 in the right arm supported by 3 tons
of ammo. This would be paired with a MML 9 in the left torso itself supplied with 2 tons of
ammo. Each are would carry an er-medium laser while a single medium vsp laser would be
installed into the CT. For additional defense a AMS would be installed into the head, and
supported with 1 ton of ammo. All ammo would be stored in the side torso's of the machine
and protected behind a CASE II system. One additional heatsink would be added brining the
total sinking capacity to 26.

Having just realized that the skeleton didn't post (which contains the write up as to the mechs existence) to any who are curious you can find it posted below.

Kali Yama's IlClan era Mech Renaissance would culminate with the Perseus II project. The Perseus had been a first-generation Inner Sphere Omni-Mech put into production in 3058. Initial excitement had quickly dwindled for the "Omni-Orion" and sales for the design had stagnated. The mech had found itself in the position where it just barely sold well enough to justify its existence. With the HRC-9005, QSM-4 series, HBK-7 series, and the revitalized ON-4M rolling into the market. Kali-Yama would decide it was time to tackle the Perseus 'problem.' When the board for the company met in 3155 every option was put on the table. After weeks of discussion, it was decided that an attempt to "fix and improve" the mech would be made. Design members from across previous projects would be pooled together into new teams dedicated to making the next generation Perseus.
Key among the complaints for the P1 had been the vulnerability of the IS XL engine and the lack of weapon bay space. To address this the Perseus II (P2) would exchange its XL engine for a Light Fusion Engine. To regain some of the lost tonnage in doing this they would lean into their previous partnership and reach out to Technicron, to import Clan-grade endo steel for the mech design. Additionally, Light-Ferro armor would also be utilized to free up tonnage on the mech. In the end, after accounting for the 12-engine mounted heatsinks and 14 tons (231 pips) of armor the Perseus II would find itself with a serviceable, but not amazing, 34.5 tons of free space left. With the proliferation of Clan weaponry in the new era it was determined that this was an acceptable exchange.
To address the second complaint the Perseus II would move much of the consumed bulk of the mech to the arms and the legs, this would nearly reverse the issue however, and most of the new design configurations for the P2 would place the large weapons in the torso of the mech. Additionally, it was also decided to not design hands for the mech. This was done in the hopes that combined with an LFE over the previous XL engine the P2 would be easier and cheaper to produce. Instead, re-enforced “caps” would be used for configurations that still possessed their lower arms
The Perseus II would come with the following design quirks: Easy to Maintain, Rugged (1), Barrel-fisted (RA, LA) (2)

Mordel's tro is sadly lacking in this case. For once I want to see where the endo and ferro slots ended up. Because that was the Perseus's greatest flaw, the lack of pod space big enough for big guns.
I suppose there is a question of why not just go for clan ferro fibrous armor too, but I'm sure there are reasons.

I pit 5 bulk slots in each of the arms (split between the endo steel and light ferro). The other 4 are in the legs.
By 3151 the FWL can domestically produce clan grade endo steel and heat sinks (Technicron on Savannah). I couldn't find any proof that they had the ability to make Clan-grade ferro armor or that they imported it for the purpose of mech production, which is why it wasn't used on the P2.
If you search for the Perseus 2 the (BASE) should pop up, and you can view the crit distribution as well. Sadly I didn't select the post it in forum option....and selecting it after the fact would have removed all the variants I had done.
hope this helps.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by this? Are you referring to the distribution chart where all the equipment is placed? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

TROs have historically never shown where armor and structure has been placed, and are more a quick summary. You can always see where they are by clicking the link at the top of the TRO blurb, and reviewing the design more thoroughly in that view. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Sorry, by "skeleton" I mean the [BASE], I sadly neglected to select the "post it to forum button:". I tried to rectify it but, by doing so I would have eliminated my configurations. It is what it is.

Gotcha! Yeah, Vagabond requested an enhancement to be able to make certain changes to BASE configurations without erasing all variants. Post to Forums just happened to be one of them. So that is on the list to implement. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator
