Overview:

will focus more on the technical capabilities of each configuration.
Capabilities:
At first glance the Obsidian Idol is a fairly typical assault mech.
Maneuverability is on par with almost every 100 ton mech ever made. Armor
coverage is actually lighter then average with only 18.5 tons of standard armor
covering the chassis. What truly makes this mech is the weapons capacity. 59
tons of available pod space allows the Obsidian Idol to carry an unmatched
bite.
The primary configuration comes out strong mounting twin Gauss Rifles and Twin
ERPPC's. An LB-10x autocannon rounds out the weapons mix offering a means to
exploit the holes created by the primary weapons.
Variants:
The mech that eventually became the Obsidian Idol started as a series of mechs known as the
OKS or "OverKill Series." Where many of the Ideas from that project found their way into
the Obsidian Idol, in most nearby timelines they were expressed in mechs like the Hell Star
or Annhiliator C.

Yes the United Freemen refugees were responsible for the recent reality quake. The point of
divergence in their timeline seems to of happened around the pentagon wars. Clan Wolverine
survived a bit longer, the Dark Caste got a bigger initial boost. The Scientist Caste had
more lines of communication with them and thus the United Freemen came into existence
instead of the Society. Still very similar Psychohistory inertia so the Clan invasion still
happened. The Abjurations and Wars of Reaving did not. The United Freemen attack did
enough damage that the Clan reunified culturally in the face of a deadly threat. Nearly a
hundred years later they started a pogrom against Freemen survivors prompting the
desperation play of attempting time travel. They ended up in our brane instead.
