When using spread weapons like LRMs, SRMs, LB-Xs and any weapons that do an area damage against battle armor, do you distribute it evenly? Like, if 10 LRMs hit, does each Elemental grab 2 pts of Daamge? Or does it all pile on one point?
Seems to me that area weapons would affect the entire lot of them, and not just one...
EDIT: The poll is for your opinion on the matter, what you think SHOULD happen, not the actual rule itself.

According to the rules one BA ( or Infantry ) after the other takes the damage.
Or do you want to argue with the Infantry players that a Gauss round can only kill a single trooper ?
EDIT: As this is one of the house-rules which would split the dwindling CBT-players even further, i am generally against introducing new rule-variants.

Thought so

This was about BA, not Infantry. I dont understand what you are trying to say here. An ultrasonic slug hitting the ground would produce enough of a shockwave to hurt, and possible kill, a group of infantry, if close enough.

I never said anything about a rule change? Did I? I simply asked what the rule was...and what people thought it should be, considering real world physics. If a LB-X weapon can search crits on a 'mech, the 9 of the 10 shots that hit a point of Elementals are not all gonna hit the same one.
As for the home rules thing splitting Battletech players...thats BS. Battletech will always be Battletech. Home Rules are just there for a group of people that may want to add some more realism, or change the speed of a home game. I am not saying go to the books and RE-write the entire thing because the rule makes more sense or speeds the game up.
If you want to throw your opinion around, do it in the right spot where it will make an impact...not just any random spot.

Depends on the weapon. But they are armored so the hit has to be close by. But if you spread all the damage then it makes it reasl easy to neuter a point real quick. I send some LRMS and LBx and then move in with ML and SL and it is all over.
AWAD- Artillery takes care of that problem, hits everything in the hex

I just roll a d4, d5 or d6 for a hit location, depending on the unit. Aside from that, I treat it like shooting at a 'Mech.

Exactly as you should, according to the rules I`ve read.
