==Overview:==
     The Elhazard Project was the brain child of Mikoto Satomi, lead developer
for section D at Tharkad Development Corp's. Ifurita is the leadership mech
of the seris designed and prototyped by TDC. Designed with durability, spee
and punch the Ifurita is all these and more.

==Capabilities:==
     Weighing in at 60 tons, and mounting a 300 rated light engine able to
attain speeds of 86.4kph, at first glance of stats it seems much like the
venerable dragon. Well thats were you can go wrong. In addition to speed,
theres manuverability as the Ifurita mounts jump jets. Backing this up is 11.5
tons of armor allowing the Ifurita to take a shot from an AC 20 with out
suffering internal damage.

     Coupled to this speed is an array of mainly energy weapons. The primar
weapon is an Er Large Laser in the right arm, staggered by a medium and sma
laser. Secondary weapons consist of 5 medium laser, and 3 small lasers. Spe
situation weapons consist of a srm 6, and flamer. The srm is used to disabl
crippled mechs and destroy vehicles. While the flamer can be used primarily
against infantry.

     The big variable for the Ifurita is the left arm mounted Hatchet coupl
with TSM. The weapons design is very carefully ploted, so that the pilot wi
always be able to maintain peek efficency on the TSM. Which turns a margina
weapon into a devistating force able to cleave some mechs in two with a sin
blow.

     Overall the Ifurita seems very promising to its creators and pilots al

If you are going to go full jump on a 60 tonner it is often better to lighten the machine by by 5 tons and put it in the medium range. This will save you a full .5 tons per jet.

that saves 2.5 tons? not considering engine and structure savings, that might allow some money to be saved. Then again you sacrifice the amount of armor you can place on the frame. That could become inportant if you are confronting AC 20's and the Clans. I blame the clans for requiring the 'Sphere to bulk up in an effort to meet firepower/ Protection parities.

I like it, but is it possible to drop the hatchet? Not very big on melee weapons on mechs...

possible, but with the weapons easily allowing the activation ofd the TSM thats a possible 24pts to 1 loction for no heat. i think thats worth 4tons.

You`ll also have to be at range 1 from the enemy mech you wish to hit with the hatchet. Generally a bad idea, if you ask me.

Forgot to say, why a hatchet? You have a 60 ton mech with TSM. Keep two hands and deal out two 12-point punches instead. Both resolved on the Punching chart! Hatchets are not.

generally, i'd agree.

but 1] a hatchet has a better chance to hit.

2] the concept of the design [an anime character] uses a staff as her main weapon, generally using its energy blasts, but vicsiously imploys the hatchet like end often.

If it has a hatchet end that would make the Staff a Polearm....Historically speaking....

I always figured if it is going to run hot, you may as well slap on TSM if there is space. 4 tons of axe for 24 points out does 4 mlas for 20 points. If a mech already runs hot, why pile on heat generators. The TSM also allows the mech to get in and out fast for the attack with out the MASC reliability problem. I like the concentrated damage of the axe Vs. the distribution of the 2 punches, but then again 2 chances on the punch table for the head with 3 extra point to go internal.....

Pity poor pilot if it hits, and the edge check fails.
