Who here still uses these? If you do how do you use them?
What I am looking for is info how you folks use them, I am not looking for why they are unbalancing or why they should be removed etc...

Aff, they make great paper weights. Their functionality is to keep the paper from being blown off the desk by wind being it fan or God created.

I use them as they were intended: as special operations types. Sneak in to the system in fighter mode (launching from a dropship or maybe even straight from a jumpship with fighter bays), land and scout around, report back, and then maybe blow some ammo dumps on the way out. During the main battle, use them to lure away large units by having them do surgical strikes and then fleeing in airmech/fighter mode.
If all else fails and I'm not worried about thinking "realistically" I put them in AirMech mode and munchkin the hell out of the enemy until they get mad and accuse me of cheating

Karagin, I like to use them as an objective in a "Clan-vs-IS " type scenario. The way I look at it, the Clans probably agree with Jade Dragon and look at LAMs as fairly-useless, but as interesting or intriguing prizes. Therefore, I have sometimes thrown a LAM into a mixed IS lance, and then awarded a substantial number of victory points if the Clans can win the scenario with the LAM relatively salvageable. This can be especially fun if you give the Clanners an advantage in BV. ...the Clanners have lots of weaponry, but to get those victory points they have to be cautious how much fire-power they use. They don't want to blast their victory points to rubble!

Ab/used them once, never again.

I haven't used LAMs in a long time. Only House Kurita could build any if I remember right. And even with that they were a very rare sight. Like the Ostscout, as GM back then I figured any reasonable commander would not risk so rare, hard to fix, and so unreplaceable an asset as LAMs are in the fluff by sending one into a battle.
In my first year of two of playing Btech I used them a few times. But after that I and my gaming buddies back then decided that LAMs were really Robotech and dropped them out of the universe. I've designed one or two since then, but never used them in a fight.
Geez, six years of college and I type on computers at work all day with 98+% accuracy and anytime I'm at home I STILL can't spell "remeber" right on the first try.

They only showed that you didn't read the topic or the subject of the thread at all and just commented away...so all that did was waste bandwith.

And a post replying to a 10 day old post about wasting bandwidth isn't also?
