I went to classicbattletech.com the other night and I saw pics of the redone "Missing Mechs" of the Harmony Gold incident. They look pretty cool. Are they in production as miniatures, and if so, where can I find them? I mean, who makes Btech minis now that Ral Partha has fold? And does anyone know where I can find pics of the 'mechs used in the Mage Knight style version of Btech? The one or two I've seen look OK.

Also, I'm looking for btech scale minis of the following if anyone has a clue of where to find them or who can make them:

  • Hammerhead Fighter (Space: Above and Beyond)
  • Thunder Fighter (Buck Rogers TV series)
  • TAC Fighter (Starship Troopers Movie)
  • Cylon Fighter (Battlestar Galactica)
  • Colonial Viper (Battlestar Galactia)

Storm

PS-It's tough getting back into the loop, y'know?

The mechs of The Phoenix Project are being released as minis. I'm not sure of the schedule of release but I know that there are at least a couple coming out very soon...

The company is called Irow Wind Metals, I believe. There's a link somewhere on the CBT site. As for Project: Phoenix, I'm stoked. I came along long after the Unseens became unseen and I had never even known why until recently. It's nice to see the "classics" make a comeback.

Here's the Ironwind Metals site...the listing for what is going to be released in the next couple months is already on there, along with prices...besides that, be sure to check out the links for FanTech, where minis first made by fans are going to be made available...some of the first up include the RAC Centurion, the Boomerang spotter plane, the Sea Skimmer hydrofoil and the Neptune Submarine...

There are a few forums for Iron Wind Metals (the company that now makes the btech mini's) on the cbt.com message board.

I don't think that they were made into minis.

I do know, however, that the Ferret from Wing Commander 2 looks an awful lot like the Colonial Viper.

I just checked out the Iron Wind Metals web site. They have about 12-14 different mechs available...mostly Clan Omnis (fine for me, since I was a little low on those).

So I take it you've finally gotten the dozen Mackies you needed?

Actually, the list of available minis is quite longer than that...the last one I printed was about 5 pages long with a fairly small font...

Nah....I decided a while ago that I would just proxy a whole bunch of IS mechs for the mackies, --mostly because I hate the idea of painting 12 of the exact same miniature (there's a reason that I never got into Warhammer or Warhammer 40K )

They have a lot more, it's just that I too have had problems with their site. I found about 6 minis under the category of 'Battletech Mini Accessories' or something like that.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. Incidentally, the mini for the Monster is coming along slowly but surely (ok, I haven't worked on it in a while. New roof on the house, deer hunting, wood cutting, and all this other stuff it takes to survive). I am basing it off a Behemoth, and building up the feet and the torso with putty. As soon as I find the right-sized brass tubes I can do the guns.

Ahhh, now we're getting somewhere. If I can find a mini of the Ferret it could be modifed. Thanks Kraken!

I only have 1 Mackie. It functions well enough. Just for kicks, I redesigned it with upgraded technology, and lo and behold, came up with massive tonnage to spare.

My current favorites, however are the Mad Cat II, the Shadowcat, and the Uziel. I played my way through Mechwarrior IV and really got attached to them.
