In the Battletech universe have a lot of political pull?
Which ones could by with holding say hip acutators cause major economic problems for one or more of the houses?
To keep this interesting and to get both sides who feels that things like this aren't important to the game or it's universe, if so could you please explain why.

| I think there's likely more than enough space parts and junk mechs floating around that something like that most likely wouldn't be a problem. At least not with the more common parts and within the Innersphere itself during the current time frame. Drop back to oldtech age or up into MW:DA time and it's likely to be more of an issue.

For the most part the way ive read it and checked it in the old house books, the houses are supported by themselves with very little needing to be imported. I.e. House Davion makes a Dervish, all componets are already produced in the Federated suns just on different planets, Since the Kurita weapons or comm/tracking gear is NOT going to go to a product that is at some point going to be facing them. Like wise you arent going to find a brand new panther or grand dragon with Davion or Liao built items in it, unless its a field modification. If you look at most of the mech's they will tell you in the overview or in what items they are equipped with (dervish with Federated larm and srm launcers, grand dragon with eagle eye comm unit, Imperator-a autocannons, ect) I think that a unit that is common to all the houses such as shadowhawks phoenixhawks are made with the house specific companies.

I`d say that companies big enough to build more than ~100 mechs a year can easily try some political manipulation. You`d think even Liao (madman number CXXII) has to listen to CeresMetals if they really want something done. The same should be true for the largest manufacturers in all the other realms as well. Remember it`s political pull, not straight-out blackmail  "We just need access to mining rights in System X in order to produce more of Mech Z." "A new farming colony would be needed close by to our Tinhorn manufacturing site." Etc, etc.

Earthworks, New Earth Trading, Irian Inc, Defiance, Talon/Kallon. Those are the major companies I think, earthworks is multinational, the others are the major suppliers to their houses.
Kurita and Liao corporations do not have any political pull. If they tried anything like work slowdowns and such ISF/ Mask would bloody the executive suites and decimate the workers. The execs, for letting the event happen. the workers for even thinking of rebellion.
