Maybe but one they are used they are gone, hit or miss...where as with an ammo feed weapon I have a chance to make up for the miss.

Not really. 8 RL 15s weighs as much as an LRM 15 plus a ton of ammo. It's simply some trade offs. You can add by the shot and you get no minumum range. In return, you gave a to-hit modifier. Just use veteran instead of regular or green pilots and you're covered.

8 single shots RL 15 actually fire the same number of missiles as a LRM-15 with one ton of ammo, they simply put out all of that at once if desired.

I like the concept, however, would not the machine be more effective if it had more armor and actually returned from a mission? Triple lasers and duel RL 15s should be sufficient weapons loadout.
