Okay what was the oddest thing to happen in a BT game to you?
What I am asking here is for you to relate your weirdist story about BT...from those opening round snake eyes rolls that crit and kill a mech to that one chance in a million head shot...we all have had at least one game where the oddest and weirdist things have happen...so let's hear about them!

Hardware, please recant the TotalCon story:
"Those dice are cursed"
I still get a kick outta that one every time I hear/read it!

I took out an Annihilator one time with a Gauss round to the torso on the opening turn. Crushed his gyo.
My dad rolled three double sixes in a row one time. I couldn't believe it. Made an impossible shot AND took my head off.

One of my favorite personal stories goes way back to '85. We were still learning the subtle nuances of the game....
My bro and I were playing a fairly large sized city engagement. His favorite mech, the Battleax, was leading his troops. He jumps his poor man's Warhammer on top of a level 4 building, noting that it has 100 CF, plenty to hold his tonnage, so as to get a good look where my forces are arranged.
I dig through the rules book, smile, then open all my fire on the building. (he was at long rang, & had jumped, so I really had no shot at him)
The building takes enough damage so as not to hold him up, he comes crashing down 4 levels, destroying the mech in the process!
Hell was he mad!

Chihawk will emphasize his opinion about my dice rolling....
One time in the 2nd round of the NorthEast Regional, I decided that I would build my lance with one big meanie and three light fast mechs. My big meanie was a Berserker.
First turn of the round, I ran my berserker down the sideline, parking it on the map edge right behind a big hill (totally hidden from everyone's line of sight, as it turned out).
Second turn, I activated my berserker's MASC. A "2". Locked. My big meanie spent the entire round of the tournament immobile behind a big hill where it couldn't shoot at anything.

I've see a Venom knock out a Kodiak, Gladiator and a Man o' War in successive turns.
I've seen 9 shots from 3 different people hit the left arm on one mech in the same turn....Seen? Experienced. It was my left arm.....
I've seen a mint mech trip and fall, take damage to the head, get 1 crit, killing the pilot.

Weirdest moment. In a game with some fiiends. I was piloiting a War dog (Yeah the egg with legs) I tripped on some rubbel and then couldnt stand for the next 5 rounds. After stripping the mech of ost of its armor I shut it down.
The moment that irritated me the most. Piloting Pristine Battlemaster, after the 3rd round I ran close to the woods, the hidden infantry (rifle infantry at that) Shot me did one point of damage to the Center Torso, and gave me a Gyro crit, Since it was a Campaign and we had no supplies I had to pilot that for the next 3 game sesions.
Funniest moment. A devistator is on the board and a Hatchet man runs on the board. Stops at max range. Devistator chooses to fire both gauss, 2 shots, 2 hits, Location roll was 7, 7. Cored the Hatchetman it only has 28 or 29 points total of center torso, internal armor. The GM was mad as hell.

Per Horhiro's request...
I was playing in a scenario at Totalcon about ten years back, it was a company on company battle on an ice planet. We were supposed to retieve a downed probe. Anyhow, it was so cold that ammo dependent weapons had to roll a 7 or better to fire, then you got to roll to hit. Since I was piloting a Crusader I tried a desperate gamble to get my weapons online. I asked the GM if I could either shut down heat sinks or vent heat into the ammo bins and launchers on my mech. I had to make a modified piloting skill roll, he also declared that a 2 would mean my ammo cooked off. I made the roll and the next round the GM amounced that my mech was overheating. Everyone also noticed that I no longer had to make the "to fire" roll. So, figuring it all out they began doing the same thing. So, every heat round everyone had to make the same modified piloting roll.
I was one company commander and the other company was doing a good job at kicking my company's butt. I'm sitting down waiting for the round to finish and shooting the breeze with the other company commander when the GM anounces it's time for everyone who hasn't succeeded to go ahead and make their heat roll. The other company CO asks to borrow my 2d6 which are sitting right in front of me. I agree and he picks them up and rolls them. As he rolls them I say, "They're cursed." Well, they land on snakeyes. He actually looked at me with anger for a second as the GM took his mech off the board.
We went on to win once he was gone as commander.

The first game I played with Gangrene was pretty straightfoward. No caps, nothing out of the ordinary.
I declare DFA from my 65 tonner against his 90 tonner. He smiles and says okay. So, after all the rolls my attack hits, and Gangrene is a little upset. My attack lands on his shoulders, no head hit. Well, it comes time to see if we stay standing. he fails, so i laugh as he loses all his armor in a torso section, then sets off some ammo, destroying most of the left side of his 'mech. I am cracking up. I roll and fail, so I fall too. Only I dont fall like a normal person...I somehow roll and fall on my head. The damage strips armor, so i have to roll for a crit, and of all the times....the critical hit destroys the cockpit.
Damn...

Oh no, its better than that....
...what Hardware didn't mention was the dice landed on snake eyes; they did not bounce at all.
I was laughing so hard I almost pee'd my pants...the look on the guy's face was priceless.

First BTech game I ever played in...me and a friend versus AWAD and another friend...we each had 4 'Mechs (16 total on the field)...one round, my teammate and I concentrated fire on the enemy T-Bolt...I got to roll locations, and ended up with 39 pts of dmg to one of its legs, and blew off the leg on the crit roll...
One 5 pack of LRMs and 3 UAC-2 shots to the head of an Annihilator at 21 hexes...then critting the cockpit...
Returning fire on a Stuka in a moddied Thunder mounting an LB-20X, 3 meds and a LRM-10...2 of three lasers hit, 8 of 10 LRMs and all 20 cluster rounds hit...had alike 8 possible crit rolls, and on the last one, critted the engine, making the 100 ton Stuka into a very massive lawn dart...
Getting punched out (literally) of my T-Bolt by a Crusader and surviving (needing a 10 or better on 2d6 to make it out ahead of the punch) and then surviving being literally double tapped out of my Thunder by a Banshee, IN THE VERY NEXT BATTLE (needing a 12 to survive on 2d6)...
Tricking a pirate who was about to step on me in my Hoplite (I wasn't in my 'Mech at the time) into getting into a duel with Alexx Knight, and then laughing as Knight makes almost every mistake in the book as he nearly loses his new tech Chameleon to a tech 1 Hoplite (AC-10 version) that has only half ammo loads and some armor missing...
Laughing as our CO (about 35 at the time) gets his butt kicked in hand to hand combat by a guy that is more than twice his age...we still have video of that one...
Taking out a nearly mint Wolverine-6K with a Spider by putting a med to its head followed by two punches, while dodging most of its return fire, as well as that of a Griffin-1N...
Those are the ones that come immediately to mind...

For the millionth time,I did not almost loose my mech, OK.
Oh and what Ruger forgot to mention was that the guy that was about to step on him, made him take his clothes off, and left him to be found by our security forces. Man that was priceless.

Well Mine was at valleycon I was facing mx. The GM said it was 2 games with each person and if it was a tie then to play a third. First game I shoot mx in the head and take the head completely off(which I thought was hilarious). The second game I shoot a gauss(I think the same one) hit him in the head again. I thought it was hilarious _________________ You want some? Come and get it

I ran a campaign in university which had many players of varios skill levels. One guy, Josh, started with a PHawk-3025. In his first battle he took cover in level one water. I strolled up to him and punted his head off.
His next character got a PHawk as well, PPC to the head.
When his third character rolls a Phawk he tears his own character up before I get the chance to offer him another roll out of pity.
He still refuses to play another phawk almost ten years later.
