Take a stock 6M version and pull the UAC/10 and ammo. Pull two heatsinks. Remove the 250 XL engine and add a 250 Light Engine. Add an LBX10 with two tons of ammo. Add CASE to the torso with the LBX ammo. Finally, add a quarter ton of armor to each leg. I call it the ENF-7D.

What does everyone think?
I debated an Enforcer Omni, but dropped the idea.

I like the fact that you increaded survivability. Thats very important. But just as a question:

That extra .5 tons of armor. Is there anything else you could upgrade with that? isn't there a small laser you could make a small pulse laesr or maybe a medium laser? Just curiuos. I can't remember.

There is, but I prefer armor. All of my designs mount maximum, or near maximum protection.

Normally I'd agree with you, but occasionaly, depending on design, i'm willing to sacrifice armor for fire power. I think to much armor makes a pilot think defensive, not offensive. I want them killing, not being shot at.

Actaully, I put lots of armor so they can be offensive. They don't need to hide behind things to survive. And the Enforcer is a trooper 'Mech and often pulls all kinds of front line duty where it gets shot at. Now, with support 'Mechs and Assaults (which get more armor than anyone else anyway), I tend to bend my rule. I suppose instead of upgrading the armor, you could upgrade the ERSlas to an ERMLas.

Perhaps. It was just a thought. Just one more example of how you can have a disagreement on design philosophy and still be right (i.e. armor vs. firepower).

Its all bout what you like.

If it was me I would upgrade the small to a medium. Alot more bang and range for you buck. I would venture to say that 90% of the time those 8 extra armor points are not going to be needed on the legs.

which was pretty much where I was going with it. but different mind sets. Who knows, maybe his group uses land mines a lot (which would require heavier leg armor in design philosophy). My group tends to favor missiles, speed and electronics. you counter that with speed and ECMs its all good.

Actually, he's right. Whenever I have several tons of LRM ammo, one ton is either Thunder rounds or Enhanced Thunder rounds.

Hmmm.....I would personally still prefer the laser but I have yet to play with someone who went nuts over mines and thunder rounds.

Oh it can be a serious annoyance. They try to mine every place near them so that you can't attack them. Its a pain in the ass.

I guess you'll never know the joys of watching a mint condition Atlas run into a bunch of mines and lose a leg.

Kicks are also very popular around here. It's basically a free attack.

our battles usually take four or 6 maps for a lance on lance battle. THey are always running engagements with terrain and movement being the most important considerations. I've seen people litterly move around 6 maps TWICE before taking down their first opponent, we love fast movement

We haven't got much table space at my house... I'd get a bigger table, but there would be no place to put it. Small engagements and few mapsheets are major factors in my battles. I tend to stay as mobile as possible though.

I played one once on 16 mapsheets, 4x4...the joys of onboard artillery that is really not onboard
