I was thinking about petitioning the Mighty Mordel to start a new category on the topic of Terrain. I figured this topic could contain threads on building your own terrain, modifying commercial terrain, availability of certain (commercial) terrain features, and scale buildings and fortifications. It would probably also contain issues related to scale, etc. I figure this topic deserves its own category since I appreciate the fact that many BT folks don't give a squat about terrain and are totally happy with mapsheets. This way, we "terraformers" could ramble all we want about the new craters or riverbeds we just made, and not get in other folks' way.
Feedback anyone (Hirhiro, I am hoping that you at least will give a yell here)?

I'm of the opinion that the topic you mention belongs in the "General Discussion" forum as it relates directly with playing the game.

Wouldn't bother me any if you just post in General Discussion. It's B-Tech ain't it? As for getting in my way, nah, I'd just skip the thread if it doesn't look interesting.

Dude! Great idea. I love terrain, I mean, love it!
Yeah pencil and paper BTech is fun, using pennies for counters, standard paper hex maps,and the such.
But, and I do say BUT, terrain and painted mechs put this game over the top. Hoody-Hoo!Toss in a couple of trees, some recessed water, and go for the gold....

PS: and by the way this is a much better idea than a new forum for Raven!'s "Cry freedom".

I think your cue should be that he didn't get one either.
I don't see any reason to be adding a forum for something like this....its Battletech so it belongs in the 'general discussion" forum.

Well, by that logic, design submissions shouldn't get their own category either. After all, they are Battletech designs.

I suppose you could be correct, but it is a bit more specific,then the general area, and MOST Importanly I think is that is has a very large input level. People are constantly posting designs and such. IF they were in the general forum, they would clog it up.
But that's jsut my 2 cents on where they belong.

There are exceptions to every rule.
You could make a case using "logic" that every single niche in the Battletech community should get it's own forum, but "logically" that doesn't make much sense, right?

I always try to avoid logic whenever possible.
-I feel that it is totally overrated
