==Overview:==
One of the many mechs built during the hay day of Landorf Protectorate, the Sultan series was seen on every world that rated a mainline garrison and on some secondary worlds as well.

The mech had the firepower and protection to stand fight against almost anything thrown at it.

During the Revolt of the Warlords, many a battles had whole lances of Sultans facing off against each other. Whole towns and villages were razed when this mech would face of against another of it's kind.

The Revolt caused a sharp decline in the number of Sultans and today the mech is still seen in the front lines of the Protectorates' forces but it's numbers are no near what they were 300 years earlier.

There are several upgraded versions that seem to go with double strenght heat sinks and endo steel frame or an extra light engine.

Are the medium lasers in the arms for any particular reason?

I ask because if they aren't I suggest moving them to the torsos to free up the arms to punch...I know it has long range weaponry but it still might be a good idea "just in case"

Although I now see it doesn't have hands...I might add them just to get a chance at 2 9pt punches should the occasion arrise.

The lasers could be moved around...the idea would have crossed someone's mind at some point...if you feel it needs hands then put them back. I just figured that with dual PPCs it wouldn't need them.

unless those are ER PPCs with no min range, you need hands. Interesting fluff!

Actually no you don't, you have the mediums to cover the minimum of the two PPCs.

(It would help if I spelled the word right...)

Thanks for comment on the fluff, glad you liked it.

Alter the weapons, they are useless as it stands now, you can only fire half of your long ranged weaponry.

Drop a PPC, add at least 4 heat sinks if not 6 and put on another laser or some SRMs.

While i do say its grossly under sinked,
i don't go as far. 18 heat sinks will work
great with 2 large lasers [instead of 2
ppc's] giving you the extra heat sinks and
additional infighting weaponry. i added a
medium laser and 2 small lasers to switch it
up some. you could go with 5 ml, 2 lrm 15,
and 2 ll just fine.

now with this layout, i moved the lrm's to
the arms so that when your in physical range
you can punch at no lose of firepower. but
thats just my opinion.

Yes they are!

I have seen about three different affective design theories.

1) Enough Heat sinks to fire every weapon in the inventory, or close to it. This theory works best on designs that use weapons with matching or close to matching range profiles for it's weapons. Warhawk C, Direwolf A, Awesome 8Q.

2) Layed weapons with similar heat profiles and enough heat sinks to fire each layer. Timber Wolf Prime, Warhammer 6R, Stalker, Crusader.

3) Jack of all ranges. Enough heat sinks to fire the majority of weapons no matter the range. Thunderbolt, Orion, Summoner Prime.

The design in question here does not fit any of the above rolls. It can only fire half of its primary weapons, Dule PPCs and LRM 15s without heat concerns and in the case of the PPCs big heat concerns. The layed theory is gone in my opinion as the PPCs and LRMs range profiles are very similar, save for maybe min range. Jack of all ranges maybe, but then again heat problem, BIG HEAT PROBLEM!!!

Vagabonds version looks alot like a Stalker. Larger LRMs, fewer heat sinks and no SRMs, but still very similar to a Stalker.
