fm:wc doesnt say... they are a showcase unit that uses ruthless tactics,no mention of weight classes but im guessing its pretty evenly mixed ..could be one hell of a fight if they corner you..like you would be dead and stuff....

Question: While I'm not up on the Clans andtheir Galaxies or CLusters, but I noticed that Paul and Nightmare have said the exact opposite about he 3rd Bear Cluster. Nightmare says that they are hurting in the fast mech area, while Paul said that they field a lot of them. Which is correct, as that would greatly help planning for the contract.

Out of their three Trinaries, only three stars contain light mechs. The rest are mixed heavy/assault designs. Not that I should count on it, of course. A star with Dashers, Ullers and Dragon Flies can rip a light IS company apart before going down.

Perhaps I should clarify my comment.
What I meant was, that CGB tends to field fast 'Mechs. That doesn't (although could, which is prob where the confusion comes from) mean that they tend to field light 'Mechs.
But if you look at their main Assault 'Mech, the Executioner, that sucker is a 4/6[8]/4 'Mech. It can keep up, or outrun nearly every 3025 'Mech in existence.
Their main heavy is the Mad Dog, which at 5/8 can also keep up with most IS 'Mechs.
And yeah, as Nightmare noted, bumping into a few Stars of Vipers, Firemoths or the other Clan Lights tends to be unpleasant as well.
Considering the probable trouble of disengaging from a Clan unit, it's better to avoid them altogether, IMHO.

All very true and valid points.

I would pack some Karnov's along for supply transfers. Nothing beats dropping a Dasher then flying in with a Karnov (after battle) and flying away with the WHOLE thing. Take it to a secure place, strip it down and hide the loot someplace only a VTOL can go.(or take it with you)
Also cosider taking your infantry along, not for direct confontration, but recon work. Dress up like a local and the GB won't even look twice. Lets you keep tabs on which units are out on patrol and where. (maybe)

We`ll have to see how it goes when there`s finally time to play some BTech. My favorite opponent has to work for a living, and so do I. Bad karma for the gaming.
