Seems that ratings killed another show...Not sure which cities the WB used to get it's numbers from for this one.
Also according to Starlog Magazine BUFFY is on it's last season, not sure if this is 100% but they did state in their Feb. issue that it does seem to be the case.
Dinotopia is also on the chopping block...again ratings are killing it.
What happen to decent scifi sticking around and becoming a classic?

I blame the reality show. Nowadays, reality shows are the main draws for a lot of stations; as such, they take with them a good chunk of the ratings and attention away from other shows.

Hell most of the Sci FI on the boob tube is crap. I do not watch most of it, even Enterprise has done little for, a few good episodes but no soul. Many do have only a limited life, unless you have a serious story arc and the money to back it, and most do not. I can not wait until the next risk taker comes along and makes it work.

Well, the scifi has to be decent first. Dinotopia - c'mon, I don't think many people want to watch a bunch of hippies and dinosaurs go running around in little adventures. But Buffy has not had a bad run, and I am surprised it lasted this long.

I am not so sure about that. It seems to me that a lot of the reality TV shows went the way of the dotcom, with only a few major players sticking around (Survivor, American Idol, blah blah blah). Primetime is still largely filled with dramas or sitcoms.
