==Overview:==
The heavier version of the Battler came about at the height of the Revolt of
the Warlords in the Galatic Union.

There was need for light mech that could pack a punch and still get away fast
enough to come back and do it again.

Dormac Industries, one of the largest suppliers of weapons to Van Hount
faction, and maker of Battler ultra light general purpose mech came up with
Heavy version by adding 5 tons of weaponary to the original design and making
some other modifcation on the general frame.

The end results were amazing and gave more punch and usage to the mech and
more money into the coffers of Dormac Industries.

==Capabilities:==
The speed of the Heavy General Purpose Mech is gained by using an extra light
engine, to many this seemed to be a waste and time bomb waiting to blow up
given that one of the main weapons on the HGMP Battler was a short range
missile two pack.

But actual combat trials and countless pitched battles seemed to lay this fear
to rest for the most part. Of the 3000 HGMP version of the Battler built only
45 every went nova do to an ammo hit and chain reaction from that hit.

The mech backs the SRM2 up with an extended range large laser. The only big
draw back to this mechs is that it is a heat hog.

Some have suggested adding in the venrable double heat sink techonolgy but
that has not happen since Dormac sited cost issues with the use of the extra
light engine.

Overall the mech gives good service and is still found in action on several of
the border worlds in the Landorf Protector and Zokar Hegemony.

its nice, but wouldn't it be better as a VTOL instead?

a VTOL i managed: 20t VTOL; 7/11 ICE; 4t st armor; 1 LRM 10 w/Artimes IV, 1 SRM 2; 2t ammo; cost: 770,000

fusion version: 20t VTOL; 7/11 Fusion; 4.5t st armor; 1 ER LL, 1 SRM 2; 1t ammo; cost: 760,000

But as a design i think its decent.

It might, just as the Goliath mech makes a decent tank...
