Has anybody looked at this? Is it worth getting? I have almost all of the modern FMs but, I'm getting reluctant to spend money on them, because, face it, some of them sucked!

FM: Civil War? What's that? We have the FedCom Civil War Sourcebook, which is WELL worth getting...and soon FM: Updates will come out and update all the Houses, Periphery and Clans to the period just after the Civil War...
So, if you want to know the state everyone is in just prior to the Jihad, then yes, it is WELL worth getting as well...

Excellent read and necessary info on the whole debacle. Clearly shows how the FC was really doomed from the start. Hanse should have married Constance Kurita instead of going to bed with those damn Lyrans.....

No, then we'd just've had a different war. And I should think a Federated Combine Civil war would have been incredibly bloody and draining on the inner sphere. More so than the one that actually happened. And who's Constance Kurita? Can't say I've heard the name before.

Horhiro, correct me if I'm wrong, but she's a member of the Order of the Five Pillars, and keeper of the honour of House Kurita?
I can't remember all of what that means, and why it's important, I just know that she's fairly big on the scale of big-wigs.

oh yes big wig is right. Back in 3025 she was about 35, was Takashi's 2nd Cousin (her father Marcus was Takashi's cousin and at different times a Warlord of Rasalhague and the commander of the Ottomo {the coordinator's personal bodyguards})
Her title as "Keeper of the Family Honor" is highly respected and is a very very powerful position in th combine, possibly second only to that of the Coordinator himself.
If Takashi hadn't blown off the cease-fire recommended by Katrina Steiner in 3020 and and then freaked out when he heard Hanse took her offer, he could've woo'd the Fox with Constance's hand and gotten a powerful ally in the Fedsuns rather than keeping them mortal enemies (up until current time that is...)

I'm thinking that this marriage would solidify a ally rather than produce a union of the two realms as the FedCom proved to be impossible to do. That was a very bad mistake by Katrina in the first place.

Much as it pains me to say it, it wasn't all Katrina's idea. Hanse had a hand in it as well.

Absolutely, but she got the ball rolling.

She shouldn`t have let Hanse have so much say in things. He was a militaristic nut, after all. Attack, attack, attack.

But it was the military's success in the 4th war that brought the two realms really together.
I would not blame Katrina Steiner nor Hanse Davion for the civil war. The biggest piece of blame lies solely at the feet of Kathrine Steiner-Davion. In my opinion if she had worked with her brother for the good of the people as opposed to against him for her own power gain the realm would have lasted AND more than likely should would have ended up in charge anyway as Victor faught his wars.

I thinks it's been well documented that the Lyran people generally were not too favorable to the merging of the two realms. Esp the Lyran military, and definately the people of the Skye province. They should've just sealed a long term alliance with a marriage rather than trying to meld the two radically different Houses.

The Civil War wiped out my Fighting Urukhai.
From everything I've heard, the sourcebook is suppose to contain quite a bit of information on the units that fought, and track their progress through the inner sphere.
Does anyone know a good online store to buy the book from?
