Ah, the days of GEnie. How I miss them. Best Battletech/Mechwarrior game there ever was.

Yes it was, and why they don't recreate something is beyond me. Hell, they could re-institude what they had and I would be playing it again, and pay! All these MechWarrior games are great and all, but they leave a lot to be desired. And if you've played EGA BattleTech on GEnie, you'll know what I'm talking about. It's that emptiness inside. Oh well. Maybe WizKids will smarten up and do something about it. I truly feel they are missing a very large chunk of monetary gain by not creating something like it. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

MOrdel, you're just like a freind of the Family's, named Joe. He retired about ten years ago, and he still builds three houses a year.... Some Retirement....
I'll have to dig it up, one thing, is there a time limit?

they did try to recreate it. Or at least Activison did. But they decided they weren't gonna make any money off it. Since it only had a few thousand during beta testing rather than the hundred of thousands that everquest has. Or something like that

Thanks, Horhiro. I went through my 45 zip disks and nothing. I look at the 100 or so floppies and see. If not, I remake it from memory, to the best of my single father of two,s memory that is. I hope I can remember his name...

Well, EA games did, dunno if Activision was involved in that.
They made Multiplayer Battletech 3025, which did rather well, but certainly could use a bunch of tweaks. I understand it was mostly based off of the old Kesmai work.
Apparently EA ran into financial problems due to overextending themselves, and they had to axe a bunch of projects. Whether they could make money off of it or not became irrelevant.
It sucked, it was a great game.
Whether something like it will be created depends entirely on Microsoft, really. They own FASA studios, and the license to create and sell any computer game with Battletech in it.[1] MW4 and MechAssault seem to indicate they are interested in BT, to a point. If that extends to making a MMO type game like 3025 remains to be seen. But it's not really up to WK and definitely not up to FP.
Paul
[1] So as soon as the Megamek people try to make money off of it, they can expect a cease and desist type reaction, I think.

Sourcebook is gonna take place in 3064 you said? Think my char is still in 3055 or so. Guess I'm gonna have to give'em a 9 year boost to get'em up to speed.
Not to mention I never worked up any actual written history on'em. Hmmm. And you need it by the end of Feb. right?

Okay Brain. I don't like you, and you don't like me, but let's just do this so I can get back to killing you with beer.

Yeah I'm like that, I got all my stuff in the Merc roster form and never really have gotten around to making my character in MW3 form.
Oh and by the way if I can get my history typed up in time I will go ahead and send it to you Horhiro.
