=Overview=
Mobility is one of the strongest factors of the BattleMech, something that gives it the great tactical advantage it holds on the field of battle. However, it is not the most mobile system in the field, that distinction goes to VTOL's. With a lack of resources for BattleMechs, but plenty for small light vehicles, as well as plenty for infantry, the Russian nation has spent plenty of time working on tactics to combine these two into effective fighting forces. The result is the Dragonfly Infantry Support VTOL.
=Capabilities=
The advantage of the Dragonfly is multifold. First is the fact that it can lay down a devestating array of fire power on any target with the snub wing mounted rocket launchers. With 120 rockets, the destructive capability of the Dragonfly is nearly unmatched. This sort of fire power allows it to soften up a landing zone, then flee for safety, letting the two squads of infantry hold the line with heavier weapons such as mortars and machine guns. In its other configurations the Dragonfly has longer staying power, but less immediate fire power. However, these variants make good raiders and harrassers, able to deliver devestating fire power towards light units and enemy infantry.
The next advantage is speed. Able to move at nearly 130 KPH the Dragonfly can get into any situation and out again VERY quickly. This high speed allows for maximum tactical flexability, letting a group of Dragonflys change course and make up for lost time to fill a breach in the lines or to launch an attack at a new location. When pared with paratroopers, this speed becomes truly nasty, as the Dragonfly can overshoot the MLR and land troops in the supply lines, using its rockets to knock off targets the infantry tell it too.
The last advantage is sheer survivability. Built tough and durable it is nearly impossible for someone to knock off an Dragonfly without overwhelming fire power. With enough armor plating in every location to withstand a guass slug, the Dragonfly is one of the toughest birds in the air. When combined these three advantages allow the Dragonfly to get in and get the job done quickly, efficiently, and for a low cost.
=Deployment=
Currently only the Russians deploy the Dragonfly. It is deployed with their Army, transporting infantry units throughout the rocky mountain interiors of the two major continents. With a military almost entirely composed of Infantry, the Dragonfly has become a godsend, allowing for rapid transit over difficult terrain. It should be interesting, if Bryant is invaded again, to see the effects of these units on combat.
With the development of Kiev Class Carriers, the Dragonfly has also seen deployment in that theater as well, sometimes attached to Condor Fighters, but usually on its own. With enough room on the carrier for three Dragonflys, and a full compliment of Infantry, the Kiev is becoming a popular landing spot for Dragonfly VTOLs.

Yeah that one was my personal favorite. I've used it once or twice, and I'm telling you, you can actually seriously down a BattleMech with one volley (which is all you have, so you gotta knock them down)

You have 82 points of armor allocated, but only 80 points for 5 tons...just something I noticed making the file. Is there a correction for this?
Also, my version is a ton overwight.

Hmm.. to be honest, i don't know. You're going to have to wait a few days. All my files for this are at home. I believe it is probably just a mathematical error on my end, but without info I don't know! I'll get back to you asap.
Raven, who will have a few more weapons of pure morbidly fun destruction posted over the next week!
