Not sure how many of you have heard of the Romance series (though most have likly heard of it's off shoot, Dynasty Warriors)
Well Romance of The Three Kingdoms 8 will be coming out in the next few days and I am planning on buying it at the first chance I get, even if I have to sell off most of my PS2 games to get it.

Well I'm buying ROTK 8 tommarow come Hell or high water, and if I disappear for a few days, maybe even weeks, don't worry about me.

It would be like Battletech being the parent of Mechassault...
...in fact thats a damn good alanology. Romance is a Civ style empire building game...a damn good one too.

8 is VERY play worthy, managing everything can be a bit tricky at first (so I recommend starting as a Ronin and wandering until you get the feel for it) however once you have grasped the flow of the game it is FAR more simple that any of the others (that I've played wich is all of them but 6) Some of the new relationship types have truly AWSOME benifits, Marrage can be a pain to acheive but being taught a skill (rare) or given 100-1000 Gold just for talking to her (semi-rare) is a great thing. Sworn Brothers has fewer benifits and is not a usful. and I've never had a sworn Enimy. Rivals are a GREAT new aspect as your fame will greatly increase by out doing them.
Building up your Character is a little difficult, however if you unlock ever item (I'm at 56% of my item collection and I have a list!) and Event (I'm not even getting into that) can make created characters more fun to play as with new skills unlocked and easier stats

yeah 3 was ok but when it came out I was so young I didn't really understand what it was all about and spent most of the time getting my butt handed to me by my cousins.
