I started playing BT back in the mid 80's. That does seem like a long time ago. That was my entry point to gaming. Other games were soon to follow: MERP, DnD 2e, and others too minor to mention.
A core group of six of us formed up and still get together today. We are now in two states. 3 of us are now married. One of us has a child. But we still get together about every 3 months or so. Mostly now we play DnD 3.5e, some MWDA and for some exercise, disc golf.
Myself and another are both in the Milwaukee area. We were the die hard BT fans of the group. In fall of 1993, our first year in college, we started our own version of BT on the computer. 10 years later we changed programming languages twice and platforms 3 times. And we still have little to show of it but we have not given up yet.
Our wives tolerate our playing as long as we don't neglect the house projects. There always seems like there is something else that needs to get done.
BT and gaming has given me a close network of friends. After 15 or so years, 360 miles will not keep us apart. With these guys we have stood up in each other's weddings and have helped each other move. We worked on each other's houses together. And there is no sign of any of this stopping any time soon.

I feel old, I started with D&D 1st Ed in the 70's. Not even AD&D.... Just D&D.....

That cartoon was a great idea, But they really messed it up, The computer graphics on it were nice though.
Does anyone play the btech sim-pods anymore?

I try to get down to D&B in Chicago about once or twice a year. But I am over due.

Hehehe Dave and Busters is a name I havent heared in a long time. Hey bo do they still have a "Other side" there (or did they ever I should ask). I ues to work at the first store here in washington. They were a lot of fun just wish they were still open.

I am not familiar with the "Other side" so I don't know.
D&B in Chicago (the one downtown on Clark St. - I think there is another in the Chicago area) is suppose to have the new version 3 pods. I have yet to try them. If one of you has, let me know what you thought of them.
