Looking at the wording in the HDSB is it just me or is the Outback not just the near periphery as it is a name for the impoverished/subsistence planets through out the FS?
It seems to fit well with the defintion of Skid Rows, it's own lack of defintion and the geography of developement, sited Outback/SR worlds, and tramp school operation. Holes?

I always interpreted that to mean the Davion Periphery border worlds, In Davion space but far from the Core of the Sphere. The Brokenwheel, Anjin Muerto, Kearny, and Islamabad Combat Regions would probably cover most of them. You could move in another layer in some areas too, considering the effects of raids from the Tortuga Dominion and such. The combat regions near Taurus and OA would probably have trade traffic moving thru, so while not all that good they would not be totally depressed.

The 2 academies mentioned in the (Filtvelt and Kilbourne) scourcebook, also mention that they recruit from skid row and outback worlds. Skid row meaning depressed and not much oportunity in sight, outback meaning un(der)developed and kind of empty.

| I figured it was something like that (instead of two cows you just have one donkey), but as Skid Row exist throughout the realm is their any reason the Outback wouldn't?
