This particular Shadow Hawk is being used over at CBT in an RPG game. IT is slightly alternate universe and involves the Jade Falcons sending out their own version of the Wolf's Dragoons. Albeit this unit is much smaller, one company made up of Freebirths and Trueborn abtakhas. This is my character's ride

lightly armed for a shadow hawk... but over all ... versitile.

Too many heat sinks, IMHO.
You need to dump several (At least 4) to spread a bit more firepower in there ... another Medium Laser and an SRM-4, for example, or a Machine Gun instead of the Medium Laser.
It runs cool, sure, but it just doesn't have the option of throwing all kinds of death when it needs it.
I like the expanded jumping, mind, and teh armor coverage is fine.
Just trade smoe heat sinks in for some guns.
(And doublecheck your C-Bill cost. That seems a tad ... high.)

When compared to the original, this is actually heavier armed. The large laser gets 3 more points of damage, plus I remove one ammo dependent weapon [a big plus].
As for heat the heat sink issue addressed by Old Dog. I like my LVL 1 'Mechs to run as cool as possible which this does a fine job of. I made it this way for mainly that reason. If I were really smart I'd drop the missile weapons, too upgrade the LL to a PPC, add another ML or two and add a ton of armor. However I still wanted this too look like a standard SHD visually.

I agree with Steelfang Heat is bad.when you do not have full heat disapation that means that you do not have full use of all your weapons which means that you have space and mass wasted... not good

Remember though, you can always bring your heat level back down; your enemy cannot repair the damage you just inflicted with that alpha strike. Heat is a good thing if it means you just dealt a severe whoppin' to somebody.

A long list of weapons also means you can afford to lose some to critical damage, without losing much effectiveness. The typical Alpha-Strike monster will run incredibly cool after losing an arm with a few lasers. Not to mention being severely under-armed.

| I have won a lot of matches by forcing an enemy with a heat inefficient mech to over heat.

different playing methods Mo.
i've seen alpha strikers get waisted by INEFFICENT mechs because those mechs didn't waist space on extra heat sinks and carried an extra weapon or two that could be used when needed.
the dervish is a grand example then the stalker is the perfect compromise. both designs carry far to many weapons for its heat capabilities yet a experienced pilot can use these designs with deadly efficency because they know how to dance.
its this aspect of BT that has alot of older players disliking new developments. with each element and phase came a skill and tactic. remove heat as a concern [which DHS have managed to nicely] and you loose abit of what makes the game great.
soon the game becomes little more then rolling dice with little thinking required. a fairly boring game if you ask me.

Way to many HS. 10 would do. This is a Level 1 mech anyhow. Increase the armor and add a tertiary weapon...
