Ive been cehcking out an Internet Movie Database, but havent found anything on a BT movie. If the do it right, it could kick all ass no mater what time period its in. Personally Id vote for the Warrior trilogy, either that or Wolves on the Border. I did manage to find something on the upcoming Aliens Vs. Predator movie, though, for anyone whos interested.

The rights to a movie were definitely sold. Of course, that means very little. Supposedly the movie is (was???) in preproduction - which is where lots of wannabe movies die. If it ever actually gets made and released (big ifs there), you can be reasonably certain it will be Dark Age. Forget your classic CBT novels as a basis. The chances of seeing that are close to zero.

Getting back on topic:
I don't think the inconsistencies between the MWDA history are any greater than a number of inconsistencies in the CBT history to 3067. I personally think the MWDA history from 3067 to 3032 is far more plausible than, to take an extreme example, the outcome of the 4th Succession War. (2 Houses can do no wrong and 3 Houses roll over and die all at the same time? Sure.)

Hey at least the CBT history HAD depth...MWDA's doesnt have anything like that. The MWDA has folks writing their novels who have never even played the game...at least FASA had folks who wrote the books had at least played the game once or twice BEFORE.

And any game system will have plot problems when the writers and TPTB have picked a favortie of theirs...hence everything else takes a back seat to that. The old BT universe had more a 30ish plup fiction feel with depth and diversity and adventure where the players and the GM had a lot more freedom to do what they wanted to more degree then is seen currently in MWDA.

But then again given the new markert WK is aiming at and their attention span the errors and mistakes won't matter since the next supplement forces them to buy more to say current and able to play. So if that is what they want then that is what they get.

I will stick with BT and leave MWDA for the place where fads end up....the trash can.

Coming in late, but....

As a game system, I'm indifferent to Dark Age. It's fun to play as long as I'm playing with the right people, but on the whole I can take it or leave it.

The collectible aspect of it bothers me--but again, if I'm playing with the right people then it really doesn't matter to me (since I don't feel a need to show off the size of my virtual-peen by spending umpty-ump dollars to get every last little mini that exists).

The history? Hey, I can dig it. I'm a sucker for a good story--and everything is pretty cool to me so far. WoB jihad was so flagrantly horrific that it made people not want to fight anymore, swords to plowshares and back to swords, yadda yadda--that makes for an interesting story, to me.

Just my 2 cents.
