G'day y'all,
All this banter about the Word of Blake's fanatical jihad has me wanting to read more. Can someone tell me where to find this information, be it a novel of field manual? Or, does it actually exist in a single volume format?
Thanks,

I think its more of a "we need a reason for the IS to be back in a Dark Age, a la 3025. So this just happens."

A little bit of both, HR. I started out doing recreation play. I did that for about three years before I got an invite to play with a team, and did that for about two years.
Since ive moved up here, Ive had to leave my gear back in Iowa, so for the past year my skills have been building up a good layer of rust.
Well, when things manage to sort themselves out, I intend to get my gear and get back onto the field. Probably going to start off doing rec, then see if any teams are headhunting.
Have you played at all, HR?

Mentioned in the Dark Ages backstory, but little detail is given (Teh Jihad came out of nowhere, with scores of Jumpships and thousands of Mechs, conquering the entire Inner Sphere in ten years. House Liao was teh last to fall.)
That's about all we hae, other than Devlin Stone then rose up in a small jailbreak, beat a planet, highjacked a warship, then turned around and conquered teh Jihad, thus rebooting the universe.
This is known, in shorter terms, as 'Deus ex Machina'.
They had all teh tools they needed to fix teh Sphere, they just chose the easy way.
As yet, teh CLassic Btech line hasn't hit this stage yet. They're still recovering from the Civil War, then the House Books will be released, probably with Marik as teh last one. After the books are out, they'll go ahead and make them all Moot by inflicting the Jihad on us.

What have you been reading Old Dog? Watch the exagerrations...the WoB conquer a few worlds right around Terra, and set the other nations against each other...and drop a few nukes, chems and bio agents on some worlds, and orbitally bombard some too...oh, and drop a few asteroids on the capital world of the Taurian Concordant...
If you want some backstory, go to the Comstar INN site (see link below), and look for the Touring the Sphere archives...

I have been playing for years... mostly rec, but have done some tourney stuff. Unfortunately, I have had to ref during most of the tournaments I have gone to. I am part of the Canadian Contingent (see website), a group of paintballers where having fun and fair play are our mottoes. If you go the Warpig or read some the trade magazines you will see our name mentioned. We play a lot of stock and pump with some semi (open) days. As soon as the weather permits, we have monthly club days at one of sponsor's fields. During the winter, it's tourney style indoor play that keeps us limber.
If you ever get to go to Big Game Long Island in May, you will see our staging area (including a bar, a la Canadian). Drop by and join us for some libation. We have members from Canada, U.S. and England coming to this event. We also show up every year at EMR for the Castle Conquest. That's quite the blast.
If at anytime you are in Ottawa, let me know and we wil hook you up. The club has sufficient gear to lend out to guests. You know, once paintball is in your blood, you are forever hooked.
P.S. what kind of marker do you use?

I know about the addiction of paintball, HR. I bleed paint fill.
Currently, Im stuck in Vancouver, waiting for gov'mint paperwork to go through. Im originally from Iowa (If youve heard of Rattlesnake or ICU Rattlesnake, Ive played with them) and currently, thats where my markers, tanks, and tool kit reside. The gears grind slowly....
Right now, Id love to make it to a L.I. game, but have no x-port and no gear and no sponduli. So unless you can pick me up and drive me out there, stopping to get my gear, I aint got no way to get there.
Currently, I use a '99 Ac with a few upgrades on it. Ive got a couple of Spyders for back ups or loaners, whatever the day brings.
Ill send your message right back to ya. If youre ever in BC, gimme a holler and we'll see what we can do.
Ive heard of CanCon going to various events (something about Tyger busting a railing during a failed bunker move), so your rep preceeds you, in this instance.

I used to play paint ball It has been a few years I was so heavily into it that I had 3 10lb refill tanks I used to play at "pirate fields "and my Truck was a rolling paint ball supply store I would stock my truck with CO2 Paint balls I bought them by the case and repacked them into bags of 100 a big cooler full of pop and a bunch of snack cakes and sell the stuff at the field.I owned several Guns including a Tippman SMG-60 a Tippman-SLS-68.A PGP a couple of splatmasters and a Crosman .50 cal 6 shot paint ball revolver ( try to find .50 call paint balls almost imposable .the .60 cals for the SMG were rough too.

Thats some nice old stuff. Heck, people are going nuts just to get a snapshot of an SMG-60. Cant really approve of the pirate games, though. From the gear youre describing, you probably played around '85-'87...somewhere in there. Heh, just like the sibkos. The newer generations are a definite improvement over the previous ones, quiaff?

| About '85-'92 unfortunately part of the inside of the Smig broke and I gave it to a friend of mine who was a tool maker and he disappeared (he had a severe drinking problem and hit bottom) and I never saw it again I still have the rest of the gun most of my other gear I gave to another Friend of mine It all needed repairs.I am surprised that the SMG is no longer in production the only full auto paint ball gun ever made.I would like to get back into it I was an absolute terror on defense once I dug in forget it in capture the flag games the liked to park me under the flag I would dig in with 3 or 4 guns and a couple of thousand rounds of ammo and several spare CO2 bottles and forget it.

Heh, things have changed, Mo. Nowadays you dont need to park your keister with 4 other markers. One will typically do the job. Just get yourself a nice pack that will hold 4 or 6 pods, and youll be set.
If youre looking to get back into the game, find a reputalbe local field, and rent your gear for the first few times. Things may have changed too much, you know?
Ive got a standing invite with some of my friends. Ive got enough spare gear to put you on the field (mask, marker, hopper, Co2 tank) for nothing. If youre ever up here, once I get my gear, gimme a whistle and we'll see what we can set up.
