For fun we took on 5 points of mixed Protos with 3 stars of Clan tech. After 10 rounds the regular force of clan mechs had been whittled down to 2 nearly destroyed mechs ( a Dagonfly with no ERPPC left and a mostly destroyed Stormcrow) and we had succeeded in destroying almost 4 total protomechs.
It is for this reason alone that I find the Protomech to be a cheesy addition to the universe. When thoes were introduiced the Mech ceased to be the "King" of the battlefield. If they had unleashed all of thoes Protos on the IS, they would have completely destroyed the opposition and taken Terra within 6 to 8 months depend on how fast they wanted to.
I feel that with the addition of the Protomech they completely unbalanced the universe. Protomechs are much more powerful than they appear on paper. Fear them for they are unbalanced and dont belong in the B-tech universe at all.

Protos are NOT aerospace they fall in between mechs and Battle armour with features of both.

I saw the low bid, I would want more weight to my star

All clan 'mechs, both front-line and second-line, are acceptable; I think a lot of the stuff which appeared in 3055 and later existed in 3050...FASA just did not have the space to publish it all. As for honor, the Clan player will attempt to impose honorable combat, but if the Inner Sphere player shows himself to be dishonorable, the gloves come off. Strict adherence to zellbringen is courtesy to be extended only to those who prove themselves worthy of it. Even among Jade Falcons strict zellbringen is reserved only for honorable opponents.
