(trudges through the doors and up to the bar)
Rum and coke bar keep.
Hey Oafman, I figured out how this place works somewhat.
I am Seraph, a broken-down mechjock who's been out of the action for about 5 years. Was a hardcore warrior for a while, even had a merc unit for a while.
( notices the barkeep nodding off)
Yeah me too. Well I'm back and hopefully fortunes will change.
Thanks to Oafman for rekindling my interest.
(raises his glass to Oafman where ever he may be)
Well, off to find work; out of work mechjocks are sad indeed.

He's not nodding off, he's checking his eyelids for holes...
Welcome aboard...

*Oafman waves for Seraph to join his table*

Glad you could come.

Rum and coke...tall.
Don't want to get too rowdy, if you know what I mean.
wink, wink, nudge, nudge, Know what I mean? Know what I mean?
(ambles over to Oafman's table and sits down)
Thanks man.
You...uh...wouldn't happen to have a ride in your unit needs a pilot?
(sighs)
Guess not...
'nother round barkeep!
(holds his glass high)
Here's a toast to all us warriors may we all be victorious in battle and, ahem, other pursuits.

"Chihawk? Did he just say he didn't want to get TOO rowdy? Man, did he ever come to the wrong place!" Alexander laughs.
He gets up, bottle of Timbiqui Dark in hand, and walks over to Oafman's table where the newcomer sits. Alexander extends his free hand for Seraph to shake. "Pleased to meet you. I'm Alexander, resident drunk... I mean, contributing patron who is paying Mordel's kids way into college!"
Alexander (Unusually sober tonight... )

(Shakes Alexander's hand)
Pleased to meet you.
Barkeep, 'nother round for the table here.
Drink up friend for tomorrow we may die. But tonight we are all comrads. Kick up some tunes.
(looks around for a jukebox and sighs)
Guess I'm just old fashioned.
(downs his drink)
Now which drink should I hit next?
(looks at the one glass which has miraculously become 4)
I *hic* I like this place. *hic*

Fox gets up, and goes over and puts a few Demis in the jukebox, which sputters to life, then conks out. Fox takes out a tape measure, runs it up the side, then marks it with a temporary marker. Then backs up, gets a running start...and taps the mark with his foot. The jukebox powers back up and begins playing Bon Jovi's "Bounce".
Fox then walks over to Seraph and pushes his glasses up, holding his other hand out for Seraph. "I'm Joseph Garbo, Federated Suns. Usually, they call me the Major...or Fox...or Joe, but to my knowledge, only Sir Henry uses that one...Joey would work too I guess. Well, really, I'll respond to anything that isn't insulting, so don't call me Fedrat."
He coughs. "I do a bit of everything. My current major project is overhauling a Hatchman with new-tech toys, including a system that will hopefully let me pilot a 'Mech again. Long story short, I have some brain damage from a previous fight. I also work for Sir Henry...the master of creative aquisition. I am learning everything I can from him. If you need something...anything, let me know. I might be able to get you a ride once my 'Mech is done, and perhaps put you in touch with my old mercenary friends." The FedSuns trooper salutes. "I will be here if you need me...though I tend to be quiet."
He sits back at his usual table, working on his design for a modified Hatchetman, and seriously considering dropping the hatchet...

(shakes Fox's hand)
How you doing man, nice to meet you.
You guys sure are a friendly group. Sorry to here of your piloting problems but something will work out in the end.
You are overhauling a Hatchetman huh? You know I love to tinker with designs, if you want any ideas just let me know. I'm not an expert or anything but I am not an amateur either. Though my techs hate seeing that look in my eyes when the mood over takes me, now that I think about it I think my mechs used to tremble too.
Oh well nice tunes though.
( bobs his head in rhythm to the music slooshing booze on the table cause he forgot to set down his drink)
Oops, sorry.
( goes to the bathroom and comes out with a couple papertowels and cleans up his mess) _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

The good Major didn't get hurt in battle; he hit his head one night when he got drunk and fell down...hasn't been the same since. They had to kick him out of the infantry unit he was in, since he started having these delusions about having been a 'mechwarrior, and how he had to "pilot a 'mech again."

The only one delusional here is you, mud.
Joe did great work during the second Simian uprising. He's earned respect and I suggest you give it to him. He'll pilot a mech again....
Or I'll sick Mo and his killer vomit on you....

Just as long as they don't bring those auto-turkey cannons out again.
Seriously though, I'm looking for a ride myself. Lost my last one up in one of the arenas last year and have nto scrounged the money to buy a new one. Still have a foot actuator out in the truck. The only working part left when the reactor when off.

*bowing to the newcomer
Goinichi-wa Seraph-san, I am Shujin Kiris, arrived three months ago to this world on a stopover to join my new regiment. Unfortunately because of too much sake I passed out and lost the boarding time. dropship took off without me.
Now I pass the time drinking more sake and skeet shooting Jade Chickens...
