Anyone here play medieval total war? Great game, i always enjoyed the thought of seeing a huge enemy army (lets say the french ) And imagine clicking the reinforcements button to watch a Mad Cat stroll onto the field, with maybe a few elementals,
Would be great to watch the lasers slice through the ranks of enemy troops. The only weapond that could really threaten them would be catapaults and cannons, and then it would take a lucky cockpit shot to even damage it.
Hmm A mech verses 16,000 frenchmen armed with swords and bows.
Bit sadistic me

But think about what it looks like when some 16,000 French swarm your garrison? A mob that size would instantly kill all persons not wearing battle armor, just by sheer weight of numbers. Even BA troopers and vehicles would eventually be swamped and destroyed. The mechs that happened to be operating could escape, but they'd be crippled by the loss of all technicians, ammo, spare parts etc.
DEATH TO THE INFIDELS!
No, automatic weapons are not enough. As one German machine gunner said about D-Day: "I expended all my MG ammo on the ant-sized men down on the beach. Then me and my squad expended all our rifle ammo on them. There was still more of them coming when we ran away."

But if there is enough Arty at the Garrison they'd be asking themselves what the Germans on Sword, Juno, and Gold Beaches ended up asking themselves, "What the heck just happened"

Sure, using artillery on your own positions is a last resort, but that kills you too...

no no no, on the enemy as they're closing on foot. It even works in the game.
Just last night I was playing as the Romans (I refuse to call them Byzantines) and was fighting over Spain with France, I didn't pay attention to what my army consisted of and when the battle opened all I had was a bunch of sperantines and a few Organ guns sitting atop the high ground over looking a French army of 3/4 peasants and 1/4 Knights. I'll just say that it was the shortest battle I've EVER fought. my Serpantines opened up on the peasents and they broke and ran after the first canonade and the knights were broken after the third and before they even made it 1/4 of the way up the hill. I then had my crews abandon their guns and leave the feild so I could bring my light Cavalry onto the map and used that to hunt down the fleeing enemy.
hahaha sorry I'm a little overly traditional in battle on that game... when playing against the AI anyway. Against a human is an entirly different story.
