I have question for y'all...
Why is the Atlas mini smaller than the Banshee? I just unpacked my BT stuff and pulled out my Banshee from 1989. After looking at it for a while (ok, drooling and rocking back and forth, whispering "mine, mine, all mine!" ), I noticed that it looked bigger than the Atlas I recently bought. Sure enough, a side by side comparison proved me right. You would have thought that the Atlas, being the Bad Boy of the Battlefield, would have been cast as the biggest mini. Can anyone else confirm this?

Well, I just compared my Atlas (old casting from) 1986 with a Banshee- S acquired in eBay recently, and yeah, the Banshee it's a little taller, but then the Atlas torso is wider and deeper, and the legs are more boxy
Anyway, the Atlas is mentioned in the fluff of 3025 TRO as not being the tallest 'Mech but certainly the most impressive.

Thanks for the assist. I can now go back to my drooling and rocking. You know, I miss those box sets with cool artistry that were availble in the late 80's - early 90's. I just found my Light Lance Box that included a Griffin, Phoenix Hawk, Stinger and a Wasp. The cover art depicts a Steiner winter scene. Ahhh the memories....

I wish I had spent the money on mech minis when they were cheap and readily available. Now I do not have the cash to stock up on them. Luckily Seraph has tons of them, so both of us can use them when we play.

Yeah, and I just got finished putting them back together. 3 moves tends to break them down some. I had gotten a couple of those 4 mech box sets. My favorite was the one with the 3 locusts, phoenix hawk, and wasp or stinger(can't remember which at the moment). I love the pic on the front with the locust standing there with the hatch popped and the pilot looking out with some binocs. Good wooded scene.
That's 2 locust not 3

I remember that box! Whoever did the art for these boxes was quite good. With the 20/20 hindsight rule, I'm an idiot! The boxes were selling for about $20 boxes each and the store neat the universities carried loads of them. But being a student and wants to club 4 out of 7 nights a week (ok I DJ'd one of those nights, so that is working), I did not pick up on that opportunity. Arrgghh!!
My kingdom for a time machine!!!

For me it was either beer or mechs. I chose beer.

Uhhhh, different scultptors? Ral Partha made a mistake. Should have said something like for every 5 tons you get .5 oz of lead to work with, or volume if you do not like weight. Also blame FASA for never having many pictures early one of a bunch of different mechs next to each other to compare size. I mean look at the Cicada vs the Vulcan, vs the Trebuchet.
3050 Clan stuff was done very well, but after that, clan and IS, it got whacky mini wise.
AWAD- With the new castings of some mechs, put them side by side
