Howdy. Well, I've got a pickle of a dilly of a problem here. I've got a Trojan Horse virus on my computer, and it's beginning to send things out of control. Does anyone have any experience with one of these things?

Norton Antivirus removes trojans automatically. I have never had problems with trojans because of that.

I'm running Norton, and all it does is tell me that I have the virus. It attempts to place it in quarantine, but fails. I don't get it!

Does it tell you the file name? If it does post it here.
Also, are you running a firewall? or an anti-spyware program?

Norton is doing the same thing to me. I got Phished a while back, and routed to a bogus site. The page put a Trojan on my HD that is living as a .DLL file. Windows has a horrendous problem in that .dll files are usually left alone by virus killers.
I stopped by Symantecs web page. According to them, if you start up Winblows in Safe Mode, you can go in and remove the Trojan horses. Shut off your Windows Restore (I think it is) as Windows has a habbit of archiving and later restoring files that arent so healthy for it. Once you restart in Safe Mode, run your virus killer, and if nec cesary, manually go through and delete the file.
Otherwise, you can go to www.symantec.com and get a Removal Tool. Quite a few of the more meaner bugs are listed there, including some Trojan horses.
Luck, man. If all else fails, f-disk the whole drive and start over. Thatll teach the lil' bastard to hijack your hard drive!!
