I was bored and I made a list of weapons by type and the mechs that mounted them. I used to basic canon mechs from the 3025 TRO but not the variants. Was interesting to me as some weapons I thought were rather common turned out not to be.
Here's the results, did I ever mention I like making lists. 
AC/20: 4 mechs- 3 assault, 1 medium.
AC/10: 5 mechs- 1 heavy, 3 mediums, 1 light.
AC/5: 10 mechs- 2 assaults, 4 heavies, 4 mediums.
AC/2:3 mechs- 1 heavy, 2 mediums.
Machine Guns: 10 mechs- 2 assaults, 3 heavies, 2 mediums, 3 lights.
SRM-6: 9 mechs- 3 assaults, 2 heavies, 2 mediums, 2 lights.
SRM-4: 8 mechs- 2 assaults, 3 heavies, 3 lights.
SRM-2: 5 mechs- 1 heavy, 3 mediums, 1 light.
LRM-20: 2 mechs- 1 assault, 1 heavy.
LRM-15: 6 mechs- 1 assault, 4 heavies, 1 medium.
LRM-10: 10 mechs- 3 assaults, 2 heavies, 4 mediums, 1 light.
LRM-5: 4 mechs- 1 heavy, 3 mediums.
Flamer: 3 mechs- 2 mediums, 1 light.
PPC: 10 mechs- 4 assaults, 2 heavies, 3 mediums, 1 light.
Large Laser: 9 mechs- 1 assault, 5 heavies, 2 mediums.
Medium Laser: 45 mechs- 6 assaults, 14 heavies, 16 mediums, 9 lights.
Small Laser: 9 mechs- 3 assaults, 1 heavy, 4 mediums, 1 light.
Jump Jets: 27 mechs- 1 assault, 3 heavies, 13 mediums, 10 lights.
There were 55 mechs in my accounting: 10 assaults, 14 heavies, 19 mediums, and 12 lights.
How's your memory? heh heh I'd ask how many you can match to their weapons by memory but I don't want to bore you too badly.

Oh fellow list-making brother, I have but one question to ask.... which version of the TRO did you use? I assume it is the original and not the revised.
Seriously, good work. Sometimes a list like this can be quite handy.

One of the interesting parts was that aside from the medium laser, there were 4 weapons that were tied for popularity. PPC, LRM-10, AC/5, and MG's. Each with 10 mechs. The SRM-6, Large and Small lasers followed up with 9 mechs.

Out of the original 3025 TRO, the Victor...
The revised version added tech 1 versions of the Highlander and the Crockett...
The Wolf's Dragoons book added the Marauder II and the Shogun...

Isn't the mauler a post 3025 - pre-3050 mech? It is not in the original 3025 TRO and is in the original 3050.

Are you guys using a database application to run through this things, or are you so bored you are doing this manually?

Knowing Seraph personally I can tell you that he is insane enough to do these things manually. I have seen some of his spiral notebooks that are just chock full of tables like these.

Thx, this does help... Now, can you do the same kind of chart for 3050-3060?
You might be suprized to see some of th weapons change and some stay popular.

I was surprised to see haw many mechs used the PPC in 3025. It shows up more often then I thought it did.

I do these things manually by flipping through books and writing it all down.
I've found that I learn it better if I actually have to mentally process the info then transcribe it to another medium.
