Ok, just out of pure boredom, I decided to make this list after seeing a similar one in one of the old Battletechnology magazines. Unlike the old one, I expanded/updated this with the newer engine types. I'm just curious if anyone thinks this as being at all useful.

Can I get a simple layman's explaination of what that chart means?

Spare tonnage at a given speed.
Each row is a weight, from 10-100 tons. Each column is a speed, from 1/2 to something really fast (don't recall what, 20/something I think.) There are I think six lines in each row; these are different engine types (std, XL, light, XXL, compact, ICE). With no armor, heat sinks, weapons, and with standard internal structure, that number is the spare amount of tonnage on that weight chassis. Some numbers are negative because internal structure tonnage plus engine tonnage is greater than chassis tonnage.
I only glanced at it once, but I think that's pretty good. If not, ask someone else to try.

Now it makes sense, its fairly useful for designing things.
Good work.

yup. That's pretty much it. Except Light is the 2nd row and XL is the 3d. There is an explanation at the top of the chart, but I guess it's must not be very good then if people still do not understand it.

Prehaps it is too much to ask but is there an Excel version of the chart? Is not, I think I could import it an make my own. _________________ "No good deed goes unpunished." - Michael Garibaldi
