For the long range lover in you....
The LRMs seem to be a good option for replacing the ER large lasers, they suffer from the need for ammo. A need that I think violates the intended purpose of this chassis. Still, the efect of this many LRMs on a target is pretty impressive. Reducing the pulse lasers is going to be a detriment to the close fighting capabilities of this mech. Once your LRM ammo is gone, start looking for a way off the field, as some commanders like to bushwhack and kill missile boats that are out of ammo. Its a revenge thing.

You want me to vote on your question or something?

This implies that a poll should have choices.
And while I'm at it, I'll suggest that all of you go to dictionary.com and look up 'poll'. Maybe it's just me, but I never knew that poll had so many meanings. It's like the ultimite homonym.
Now then. No. The 4F Penetrator cannot survive an extended battle. It runs cooler, but it's inherently inferior to the 4D. The LRMs may do more damage at a longer range, but not for long, since they're ammo dependent. Plus, the PTR-4F has ammo and a standard engine, but no CASE. And rather light armor too.

I'm partial to the original Penetrator. It's a well-made mech, capable of hurting stuff at range or close in.
If I want a missile boat I'll pick a Catapult or Archer, thank you. They're tough and mean.

I'm more than partial. I'm fully into the Original Penetrator. I have almost everything I need. Add a Laser AMS and it's perfect....
