What House regiments strike you as being interesting?

Draconis Combine:

Night Stalkers-I always thought these guys would be tough as nails in a fight, and they've all been around so long that they've seen just about everything, so there's no tricking or fooling them. Their paint scheme and insignia is one of the best as well.

The Ryuken-You've got to have respect for a group of regiments that fought Wolf's Dragoons to a draw in their first major battle.

Legion of Vega-This is where you would find me if I were in Kurita service, with the malcontents and troublemakers.

The Ghost Regiments-Lets take a bunch of gangsters and give them 'mechs. If I were not in the Legion of Vega, you would probably find me here.

Arkab Legion: Their semi-independent status makes them stand out. Although they're not the best regiment they are one of the better raiding forces out there.

Free Worlds League

1st Regulan Hussars-These guys are one of the elite regiments in the Inner Sphere. Despite the fact that even in the 3050s Marik's distrust of the regiments forces them to field Succession Wars vintage equipment, they consistantly trounce better equipped units. Officers can also be challenged to combat by any of their subordinates if they fail their commands, a strong incentive for the officers not to rest on their laurels.

Lyran Commonwealth:

Skye Rangers-I always liked the Skye separatists, and the Skye Rangers are one of the few tactically competent Lyran units; they've administered Kurita a few drubbings over the years, and held their capital world against heavy odds when Kurita tried to invade.

Capellan Confederation:

Death Commandos-Arguably the most dangerous battalion in the Inner Sphere, and the masters of "unconventional" warfare. These guys will take out your entire command structure before they ever strike. Only Kurita's DEST teams are even in the same league.

Federated Suns

well, the only good Fed Rat is a dead Fed Rat. The Syrtis Fusiliers had some potential, as it looked like they might rebel for awhile, but it never panned out.

-Draconis Combine
Haven't really studied the Combine units that much. The only good Drac is a dead one, so it's not like it matters much. I like the insignia of the Second Night Stalkers.

-Free Worlds League
Haven't studied these guys either. I'll say that I like any unit with a history of trying to secede from the League.

-Capellan Confederation
Who cares? They're all cannon fodder anyways. I'd have to say the First St. Ives Lancers. Once upon a time an honorable unit.

-Lyran Alliance
Skye Rangers. They really pegged back the Dracs, and everyone else too. I always liked the Skye Sepratists.
Also the Eigth Donegal Guards. The officers of this unit are not even considered to be gentlemen, because of the units past atrocities against the Dracs on Skye. I think this is another thread of liking the Skye Rangers.

-Federated Suns
Where do I start?
The Robinson Rangers, first and foremost. It doesn't get any better than a group of regiments whose motto is "Honor Through Vengeance."
The Davion Brigade of Guards. Yes, all of them. But mostly the Assault Guards. The most powerful unit in the Inner Sphere.

Neat topic

Kurita - The Sword of Light. Nowdays, the Genyosha might be better, but they're never as cool. If you saw the Sword's red paint coming, most regiments ran, because they take no prisoners and leave nothing standing, military or otherwise. They are the embodiment of the feriocity of the dragon.

Marik - The Orloff Grenadiers. If you read they're unit description, they should be one of the most elite units in the sphere, but you never really hear about them. They are loyal to the Captain General, but still keep their own local idenity.

Steiner - Arcturan Guards. I like their paint scheme, and they are pretty good for a Steiner brigade. They are passed over by the Steiners in favor of the Royal and Lyran Guards, but perform well.

Liao - The Red Lancers - I love their logo. One of House Liao's best units, and personal bodyguards of the chancellor. The warrior houses are also cool but they're not really regiments.

Davion - I don't know, they're all kind of the same. Maybe the Avalon Hussars.

Kurita: The Ryuken. Modelled after how the Wolf Dragoons fight. That makes them one of the most flexible units in the DCMS.

Marik: Knights of the Inner Sphere. I'm a sucker for chivalry and stuff.

Davion: Assault Guards. Sheer Munchkiness.

Steiner: None come to mind...

Liao: Ditto
