Just thought I'd mention a very rare thing here in SE Texas, it snowed on christmas eve. It snowed an amazing amount, why had I gathered all the snow off my car hood last night I could have made 2 snowballs (there wasn't any on the ground). Why, for a few hours last night, some of us had frozen grass and white roofs. A rare day indeed around here, and even more so on that day, first time in 18 years we've had snow for christmas.
When I was leaving work last night, I could look up at the lights in the parking lot and see the snowflakes coming down. It was pretty cool. Very Christmassy atmosphere at home and at work.
Just thought I'd share the wonder of snow with all you northerners and canadians (and Finns). How many feet of it did ya'll all get yesterday? Hehe. Merry Christmas.

And lemme guess, when the snow fell, everyone drove like frigin maniacs, right? Seems to happen every time.
I used to live in Iowa for the longest time, so getting three flippin feet of snow is nothing new. Im in Vancouver BC, now, and it snows once a year, when the moon is full twice in the month, and Venus is ascending into the 69th House of....ahh, screw it. You get the idea.
Santa was kind of nice to me, as well. New office chair for my comp desk, and a fairly heft Gift Cert. to the local Game Shop.

Hey, you lot stop bragging! I've been begging for snow and all we've managed to get is frost on our windshields in the morning! Gah! And Kansas is supposed to have severe winters... _________________ "A man who does not speak his own words, does not think his own thoughts." -me

We just brag about snow, we don't actually see that much of it compared to the Norwegians. They've got this mountain for a country that catches a lot of the stuff that would later fall on the Swedes and us.
There was a real blizzard the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Winds reaching 27 meters per second. Actually it's been snowing three nights this week, but it's also been melting a bit. There might be a full foot of snow here in the city. I'll have to get off work before I can check the woods.

We had 6-9 inches in S.E. Michigan and lows that dropped below zero Farenhieght. I have not yet bothered to shovel it ...too damn cold.

I saw snow once. It was fun, I think. I was like six or eight, so I don't really remember.
Lowest temperature here was about 55 degrees. And it rained all day. Sunshine State my ass; welcome to the Rain State.

We had freezing rain, sleet and some snow last night...woke up to ice coating the cars, ground, roads, trees and power lines...lights blinked on and off a couple times, but the power didn't go out permanently...
This gave us a white Christmas this year here in South Carolina though...crystal white and a few hours late, but there you are...

We got 25 inches here in north central ohio. Then the temp dropped to ffreezing. So no melting anytime soon. May warm up to 35 monday. I'm from the east coast down virginy and north carolina way. I'm not used to snow, in fact it snowed twice that I can recall. 1980 and 1982 iirc _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

We have about four inches of snow up here. But, it was 7 celcius on Christmas Eve, so, lots of that's gone now.... Of course it dropped to -20 for Christmas day...

Having grownup in Virginia...I know it snowed more then once or twice.
I remember the snows of the late 70s and early 80s as well as the nice 2 feet or so in 1986, then there was the one in 93 that hit the whole east coast really well and snowed in VA nicely.
Now normal winters are windy and cold and the snow melts with a couple of days if not a couple of hours in VA. But it does snow there.

Very little. Being in Va now, there is a couple of inches if Snow and Ice... Yippe.....
I had to drive from Orlando to Va on Sunday... And Monday... I've done it in 13.5 hours. In 13.5 hours this time I wasn't even in North Carolina yet... Everyone was staring at it and parking their cars on the median, and Barriers, and on each other.... I finally got home at the 18 hour mark. The back raods were faster than the Interstate. I'd still be there if I hadn't gotten off 95...
