Has to be one of my favorite game series so far. Rome is certainly the best of the series too. But where do we go next? What other era's of civilisation would you guys like to see?
Personally, i would love them to remake Medieval, it definatley had the most potential and with some of the new features (not to mention graphics) from Rome it could be amazing.
Here are a few off the top of my head.
-Greece total war (persians and spartans )
-Egypt total war (bit more obscure but would be nice, not sure what factions you could have though)
-Napolean total war (gun weaponary might take alot of the TW elements away, but an idea)
Your turn!

Alexander: Total War, an expansion to Greece
Zulu: Total War, factions include the Zulu, the Tutsi, the Masai, and the Zonde.
America: Total War, American history, 1000-1999.
And of course, the obligatory MECHWARRIOR: TOTAL WAR! _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

a remake of MTW is in the works (As a mod of RTW) and showing great promise.
Hellenistic (greek) Total War is already done (a mod for MTW)
Egypt Total war would be cool but WAY to limiting in factions and area map.
Napoleanic Total War Is roughly the same story as Hellenistic Total War.

Trojans vs. Spartans: PLEASE don't take this the wrong way but what are you, 12?
Visigoths vs Arabians: would make a WONDERFUL Total War game.
Viking vs everyone: in a way already exists in the VI expansion for MTW, though it was just Britan and not the whole of Europe.

Alexander Total War: while certainly a money making game, Alexander's campaign didn't really last long enough to get the full experiance of a Total War game.
Zulu: I would certainly buy that one, though for the most part a HUGE chunk of casual players would scoff.
American Total War: if it were 1492-1865 it would be MUCH easier to do and provide the player with a nice choice of factions without an overwhelmingly large map
BattleTech Total War: a quote from an e-mail of mine to Creative Studios "We'd do it in a heartbeat if Microsoft would lend us the rights to it." If you've got the modding skills I can share my ideas and help to gather a Modders to devlop it.

Again, already a mod in the works for that.
Anywho I'm a massively huge fan of the Total War Series, and would commit mass genocide to see a Total War game based on Three Kingdoms Era China, but for now I'll have to settle for the Mod that is in the works... though it is looking to suck massivly if only the guys from the Trivium Organiazation were working on it.

Wish I was still 12.
Spartan siege on Troy would be a cool battle to replay. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

It wasn't exactly Spartan, it was the head of every Greek City, but yes that would be a cool battle, but it's just one battle.

Actually, Im 18 (so not quite twelve) but that shouldn't matter anyway, its all about personal views. They were just two factions off the top of my head.
I don't really get on to well with mods. Although alot of them are good the ones i have tried have often been very buggy or lacking. Mektek is the only mod i play and enjoy thoroughly. Its nothing personal, but i tend not to trust third party stuff. It tends to be focused on action and uber weapons rather than accuracy, some games turn to C&C when modded.
Appologises if i sound stuck up. I am a Brit

Still, I think a Lord of the Rings, or rather Tolkien game would make an excellent total war.
Rohan
Gondor/Arnor
Mordor
Isengard
Lothlorien Elves
Eriador Elves (gray havens)
Dwarves (Erebor and white mountains)
Haradrim
Easterlings
Wainriders (dead by LOTR)
Woses
Corsairs
Men of the Lake
Elves of Mirkwood
Ents (would be difficult to utilise as a faction, big walking trees!)
Dunlendings
Hobbits even! (Took archers )
And thats off the top of my head and around the time of the Third age.

Isn't there already a Lord of the Rings themed war game? I think the name is Battle for Middle Earth?

yeah but it's more or less a mod of C&C Generals than a game on it's own

There was also Sierra's War of the Ring, which was universally loved or reviled. I don't think I saw a single compromise review. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

I would like to see some sort of war series for the Star Wars universe. Conquer a planet then conquer the univers...

I would love a Star Wars or battletech one but i havent seen them done correctly. They either seem to be too brief and over simple or over complicated and to tedious. I really didn't like the Star Wars mod for Civ3 and im not expecting much from the Battletech one. But how can ypu make a Battletech total war without it either being another mechcommader or overly simplified (like just a mech called light, medium, heavy and assault) to cope with the scope of the battletech universe and the detail of the mechs.
If done right it would be amazing. But boy wouldit be a challenge!

I still like the game Metal Fatigue. A Battletech mod for that might prove interesting.
