are there any students who play BattleTech here? I am in 10th grade and am still learning to play and can use all the help i can get.

I know I had a hell of a lot more time to play when I was still in High School...enjoy it while it lasts. In a lot of ways, you have more freedom now than you ever will again. Only thing is, most teenagers dont realize that until they're all grown up.

How true. We used to play every week, sometimes several days. Now we're luck if we manage to get together for six or seven hours once a week. Growing up and taking responsibility for yourself isn't all fun and games.

Yup, but it does have its own rewards too. Such as no one b****ing if you stay out with your g/f (or wife...) till 2am Free time is at a premium as an adult, but freedom isnt.

To wich they will find out in 2 (kristin) and 3 (Heather) years from now. as all parents know I have TOLD them but remember when you all were at that age? and you had all the answers to life. then between 18 and 20 your brain drained and you couldn't even remember the questions.

I don't mind. I knew everything when I was 18 too.
I know everything now too, it just so happens this time I'm right.
Yeah, I started when I was six or so. My brother wanted opponents. This is the same reason I took up chess.
I actually find it easier to find players in college. Think about this, there are 116 people in my dorm, as opposed to 5 people in my house. And there are 25,000 18-30 year olds in my neighborhood as opposed to six 6-18 year olds in my hometown subdivision.
It's easier to walk across campus to join a game than to drive across the city from eight different parts of town.

Sure do, man I wish I still did LOL. Now I'm lucky to pay all the bills w/out having to fudge this that and the other thing. As for the brain drain, I didn't even last till 20, mine was gone by 19 heh.
