Dear sirs, I am most humbled by your valiant efforts at my mother-tongue. Seriously, I know how hard it is to pick up foreign languages (English being an exception - I moved to Australia when 11, to return to Germany only when 19!), you can all be very proud of yourselves!
All of the above is mostly correct. Though allow me to 'teach': in the German language, most of the sounds, vowels, consonants, etc., are annotated by their corresponding sounds in the alphabet. So most of the time, you have a case of what-you-see-is-what-you-get, with only a few special rules. The English 'e' sounds the same as the German 'i'. However, to achieve a lengthening of that vowel, like the English 'ee', the Germans also add an 'e' = 'ie'. That is a common mistake when English-speaking writers quote German. So basically, the German word for war is 'Krieg', not 'Kreig'. That is a rule that will be valid every time, in all words. But once again: I'm surprised, big time, as to the level of education war movies can supply!!!

By saying "snitzle" I assume you are meaning "Schnitzel", right?

I learned the recipe when I lived in Stuttgart. Not the language. (Army Brat) _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

OOC. but isn't Canadian bacon just an American creation? In all of North America there is bacon and there is ham. Just call it what it is... _________________ Festina Lente!

Well cain, if you're cooking up this rather impressive sounding breakfast for people, I'll take one as well. It's always good to try new things.

Weird. I was just thinking about this the other day, but I couldn't remember how it worked out. No one has Canadian bacon; Americans and Canadians both call that ham, right? Which begs the question, where the hell did "Canadian bacon" come from.

Remarkably enough, I have tried Thai and Indian food, and was therefore only mostly confused, rather than entirely confused.
Liked the Indian curry better than the Thai, but I could adjust. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

OOC:
I Spell the same way Jymset
That's all in Malay. Here we use a form of English that's been corrupted by Malay, Chinese, Indian, some Chiense dialects and God alone knows what.
