I've been working on a mercenary unit, and I was wondering if anyone would mind critiqueing what I have so far. This isn't one of those "real" units, mind you, the kind that's mostly composed of actual players. It's just on paper. I've got it written up on a Word file, and have also got a copy in PDF form. If you're interested in helping, please PM me so I can e-mail you the file.
I don't have a set history for the unit yet, but here's the general idea: They work for House Davion, they don't like House Kurita, they're an old unit (possibly from the Star League era?), and they've recently been devastated in some kind of cataclysmic battle.

Well, I don't think anyone would ever have to - it is quite obvious.
The StarLeague roots are quite cliché. I mean, off the top of my hat: Eridani light horse, Blue Star Irregulars, indirectly Wolf's Dragoons (and then by default Snord's Irregulars), and I know there are others.
Same with the disliking Kurita: after the "Death to all Mercenaries" edict of 3028, there would not be a whole lot of units which DO like Kurita.....
So, I guess I would not be a whole lot of help. I would probably choose to have roots in Liao space, or maybe Marik or Steiner, not Davion. And it would definitely be a "new" unit. And any roleplaying I would definitely set in the year.... well, 3010!
So, sorry, I guess I'm being critical without being very constructive, no hard feelings....

Well nothing's been formalized yet. The only thing that I have set in stone in the unt's composition and general information (preferred tactics, color scheme, uniform design, etc). The unit's history is entirely up in the air. What I said before was just theorizing I pulled out of the air.
