Trying to bridge the divide between the venerable Wolverine and Griffon. Bear with me.
55 tons
Movement: 5/8/5
Engine: 275 fusion
Endo steel IS (2.5 tons)
Ferro fibrous armour (9 tons)
Armour is maxed out at all locations save the arms which have 6pts of armoud each.
11 double HS
Weapons:
ER PPC (RT)
2 Med lasers (RT)
4 Meds (LT)
1 C3 slave (LT)
1 SRM6 (CT)
1 tons ammo SRM6 (H)
Basically almost entirely energy weapons. With my only crit of ammo in the head I won't have to gripe about CASE and ammo expolsions.
All my stuff is in the torsos with the endo steel and ferro fibrous slots in the arms and spilling over to my torsos. This explains the low amt of protection for the arms. I don't expect to be punching anyone, kicking forces a piloting check. Yes I know that a successful punch has a 1/6 chance of hitting the head but I prefer the lowest base to hit of a good ole kick.
Anything that can be improved on, pls give pointers. A bit unorthordox in terms of armour layout but.... the Zero never had armoud and self-sealing tanks anyway! _________________ Nuke them \'till they glow and shoot their asses in the dark

That's right. The Zero also got wholly owned by the Hellcat and Corsair.
Are you sure you want to (virtually) count on your arms being blown off? With the arms gone, all the shots that would normally hit the arms hits the corresponding torso, lowering the life expectancy of the 'mech drastically.

Yeah he does.
The arms act like armour in this case.
They haven't got anything useful on them and just serve to draw fire away.
He's a long-time Btech player.

I have ended many games with just 1 leg, the center torso, and either the right or left torso and still won.

I got nothing in the arms other than actuators. Giving 6 pts of armour is a bit indulging but anything less will give me weird nos. to work with. Think of this as a B-17, on a wing and a prayer.
Heck years ago a mech with a busted gyro killed a mech with a good ppc salvo. When the dice rolls never discount good ole luck. _________________ Nuke them \'till they glow and shoot their asses in the dark

That brings up some real-life questions. Who would field a 'mech that requires limb replacements after almost every battle? Not only counting that it would (probably) require a 'mech repair bay and several hours to replace, the cost would be incredible!

Nope cant be bothered with real life. Like I said just designed this on a whim. And there are pple who do not put armour on locations where there are no components. Doesnt really matter, if u wanna flame me for not thinking about 'real-life' situations, hell btech is just a game. There is nothing more fun than seeing an opponent blow away an arm just to find that there is nothing but actuators therein. _________________ Nuke them \'till they glow and shoot their asses in the dark

Woah, woah, woah. Who's flaming? I'm just voicing my opinions and asking a few questions. _________________ Evil is like a bowl of oranges. Only one, instead, is an orange of DOOM. That orange has a fate to rule over the other oranges with an iron fist. That orange is me.

Besides some of play under a household instead of a mercenary troop. So the cost of new arms does not matter to us as much. I played with money for a whole 2 weekends before I got sick of it. When you only play occasional weekend battles like I do then anything that gets you to the end as a winner is good.
Besides that, look at the canon mechs. Many of them are designed with pansy arms that will get blown off willy-nilly. This mech is not any different.

unarmored and unuse arms are a good option, but not viable with mercenaries.

Like oafman said some of us do not have the luxury of time to play campaigns. I certainly do not due to work commitments. This is good for a sat's afternoon worth of fun. Btech is all abt havin fun. Why get so serious.
