Yes i'm a Drac, so sue me..

I've been playing with the idea of a new Capellan assault Mech called the Guan Yu (check it out on google you lazy swabs).
It's a 95 tonner
3/5 speed
max armour
13 double heat sinks
and armed with:
Gauss rifle (3 tons ammo)
ER PPC
LB-10X (3 tons ammo - cased)
4 ML
1 ER ML (pointing to the rear)
Guardian ECM

That's the 1L version.

The 2L varies only in having one less DHS and the following weapons
Gauss rifle (2 tons ammo)
ER PPC
LB-20X (3 tons ammo - cased)
4 ER ML ( 1 pointing to the rear)
Guardian ECM

Thoughts and feelings?

edit:forgot to mention. Engine's standard.
edit2:And it uses endo steel
(starting to feel my age... )

Going assume that since this a CapCon mech that you have Stealth armor on both of them?

Too big, too bulky for stealth. Maybe if there was no endosteel..

Beside's as bladewind put it.. it's Guan Yu.
God of War and Police Officers. (i'm not sure about the second bit.. that's for relying TOO much on Godchecker rather than actual knowledge of Chinese history... ).

He isn't exactly known for sneaking around.

Very nice. I like the 2L version especially; always been a fan of the LBX20-X. This one has everything the Yu Huang has, plus the standard engine; and still adds a gauss rifle!

Just to bump this up, hopefully to catch the eye of the Cappellan's here.

Also a question. Should i revise this mech as an omni?

I'm no Capellan, but an Omni version of this would be a great idea. There are so few IS Omnis...

a liao omni would be nice.

Had caught my eye before. Not sure the Capellans have the ability to produce omnis. Not sure the Capellans would use ER medium lasers. With a GR, LB-10X, and an ER PPC, where's the stealth armor?

Well, the idea was that this is a Mech more likely to be seen in the more martial Warrior Houses. As mentioned earlier, it's named after a Chinese god of war (and famous general) not exactly known for sneakiness.

It would probably also be a source of pride, sort of like the Yu Huang, which doesn't have Stealth Armour either.

Of course from a design point of view that's because of the EndoSteel structure.. Not enough crits left..

I can try and squeeze in Stealth armour instead of EndoSteel i suppose...

As for the omni's it isn't impossible.. they do make the Men Shen..

Ok.. the Stealth Armour version...

OA
95 tons
w:3 R:5
18.5 tons Stealth Armour

Heat Sinks: 12 double
Guardian ECM - CT
Gauss Rifle (16) - LT (LT)
ER PPC - LA
LB-10X (20) - RA (RT cased)
3 ML - LT 2RT
ER SL - H(Rear)

OB
Heat Sinks: 11 double
Guardian ECM - CT
Gauss Rifle (16) - LT (LT)
ER PPC - LA
LB-20X (20) - RA/RT (RT cased)
1 ER ML - LT 2RT
ER SL - H(Rear)

losses something somehow... not quite as bossy...
