I just took stock of the designs in the Custom TRO section of the site, and a rather perplexing trend unfolded before me. I noticed that there were far more Heavy and Assault designs than there were Medium and Lights. Logically, there should be more 50-ton designs than anything else, right?

No, there should be more Lights. As they are cheaper to build.
Or.......
Yes, they should be most abundant....
Or.....
No, there to many Munch miesters out there, they do love bigger is better.

Disagree, mediums and lights can have just as much personality. It's how you express it.
I've been constantly trying to make the point that there are too many assaults.

Assault mechs should be the exception rather than the rule.
It's so bad that without even looking I bet there are more 100 ton assaults than any other weight.
For all you old timers out there, remember when an Awesome was really awesome?

Hey I tried to correct the imbalance I have a bunch of lights posted. Now if Mordel would just allow ultra-lights. (10 & 15 tonners)

With the customs it doesn't really bother me. If you're shelling out the money for a unique design, go for the gusto.
Now, some of these designs are clearly Christmas Trees. They hung everything on it and all it does it look pretty, but it doesn't really work.
As for me, I make the mech do what I want it to do.
Brave Sir Robin was intended to be a 50 tonner, but I needed the extra weight to get the speed up.

Still is Awesome.
It the issue of duelers vs campaign. If all you play is slag the other guy, then a lot of assualts come out. Does not mean you always win, but it is a way of doing it.
