Can someone explain to me what exactly did wizkids do with the battletech universe? From what I was told, some guy got a bunch of other people to form some Republic. Many worlds decided to go with him, as well as units, believing in his vision and so he soon has a large sphere of influence inside the IS. This doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. Many and most worlds seem to be prodavion, or pro marik, etc. No nation seems to me, would stand for this to happen, especially not after fighting so hard to keep everything to gether in the first place. With Lao getting the St. Ives, The Fedcom civil war where definitive lines seemed to be drawn etc. And where were the clans in all this? Wouldn't they find this to be an oppurtune time to strike or use this as an excuse to resume the attacks. Or what about the New Star League, or even Comstar. And why would a bunch of plans that might have belonged to Houses who were arch enemies, just decide to join together with this new guy? None of this stuff makes sense. I am hoping someone can make sense of this for me and explain it to me. Seeing what this appears to be so far make me very sad and angry at wizkids.

Yes. All of that and more.
What you were told was correct. All of the things you mention were supposedly caused by the Word of Blake jihad, or holy war, to destroy the Inner Sphere, and remake it, as the old ComStar had always wanted to do.
All of the glaring logical flaws you mention receive no mention whatsoever from any official source. Apparently, we're meant to believe that all those 800 years of histiry described in all those sourcebooks means nothing to these factions; that they're willing to sacrifice everything they've bought and kept through centuries of war, just like that.
I've heard it said that we're supposed to believe all of this happened because the WOB jihad was such a horrible war, that the Houses were willing to give up all these worlds because they were tired of war. I call that bull. The Lyrans give up Hesperus? What are they up to? Seventeen battles for cotrol of Hesperus II over three hundred years? And they just surrender it, just like that? Does that seems likely? The Succession Wars were horrible too; and I don't see any peace or Spheroid Republics coming out of those.
Edit:
Almost forgot.

These are timelines. The second one might very well have spoilers for the Mechwarrior: Dark Age books, if you care.

Aside from what StarRaven has already mentioned, the thing i can't really get my head around is that almost every battlemech is given up. Huh? sure, i'll just hand over 100 regiments + more of battlemechs because some bloke asked me to.
i can sorta understand why but it still doesn't make any sense to me at all.

It's discussing the time line, and as long as that's all it does it's fine.
If you have further issues I can be reached via PM.

Ah, don't mind our harmless needling!
Boy, it must be tough for you, alright! Being one of us, one of the crowd, you'd hate to sound too serious. But at the same time, you're genuinely responsible for the smooth running of this joint.... Well, I don't wanna swap places with you, dear sir!
Here's to you! And have your next drink over at the bar on my tab! (Or, aren't barkeepers allowed to drink?)

Not only that, but it also means that the multi-billion c-bill BattleMech industry would just come to a state of non-exhistance. Not real familiar with the DA era, do they still have conventional forces?

Do you mean vechicles and infanty by conventional forces? If so, yes, they seem to use conventional forces a lot more than the CBT timeline, at least in the militaries within the ROTS.

Eh, a little bitching from the troops from time to time is actually a good thing, as well.

Armor and infantry still existed. They are easier and cheaper to maintain and form (build, recruit, what have you) than battlemechs. Thats not to say that mechs dont exist. Everyone would still have a few kicking around...parade duty and all like that.
The majority of mechs still in use would be used for construction, mining, big heavy mule work. Lots of these industrial mechs run one ICE engines, more often than not. Once the demand for fusion reactors drops (due to mech forces being decomissioned) companies would start going out of business, or scaling back on their fusion work and branch out into other areas.
There would also be mechs that were constructed before the whole peace thing broke out. Similar to the nearly-ancient mechs fighting the Succession wars, these things have been passed down through a family for a long time. Some are in better shape than others, naturally.

So all the information I recieved was correct before. Thanks a lot for the clarification. Even though it does make me sad to see wht they did to the story, at least they are rereleasing a few of the older stuff for us. Do you think this was all changed so that a newer audience would get interested? And didn't another company do something like this to another game before as well?
