I know it sounds far fetched but what do you folks think?
Could she have done him in and made it look like a heart attack?

Ummm, no. This is a direct copy and paste from a medical minerals site:
"Potassium regulates body acid levels, balances the acid-alkaline in the cells, promote protein formation, and ensure proper functioning of the heart and other muscles. It assists in distributing and balancing water in the cells as well. It helps to maintain the normal blood pressure and promotes the transmission of electrical impulses in the nervous system.
Potassium deficiency is rare among the general population. The likely group of people with this deficiency includes those on strict diet and those being treated with diuretics. Reduced potassium level together with diuretics can potentially leads to serious heart problems. Symptoms of deficiency are fatigue, appetite loss, insomnia, low blood pressure, muscle disorders, and irregular heart contractions (eg. cardiac arrhythmia).
Rare, but potassium poisoning may occur among people with kidney problems. The symptoms are nausea, diarrhoea and fatigue. It is fatal in under 1% of occurances"
And as a side note, I accidentally OD'd on a heart drug called digoxin, and the emergency room game me 2,000,000 (that's right, 2million units) of K to help remove the excess digoxin.
To put that in it's proper prospective, I think the USDA says a person needs 125 units for a balanced diet.

As likely as it may seem, I would have to say NO.
It is not Kat style. When her mother and Galen were killed, It was loud and public. So she could play on the sorrows of the people. Hanse death (although tragic,) Was not public enough to suit her needs.
It is well with in relm of possablties. But on the surface, I would say no.

I stand corrected. I will no longer rely on MGS for any information whatsoever. I may've gotten it mixed up, maybe sodium or something. _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.

Unless we're talking a slow, protracted poisioning, it would probably require something relatively wicked to produce that type of reaction shortly (like iocane, for instance. Ever see 'The Princess Bride?').

You kept saying that. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Kathrine would not be stupid enough to kill him on the way to the clans. If she wanted him dead she would do it after they fought and were returning.
As for THAT movie...well I have been trying to forget about THAT movie for a while.

Icer saith:

It is not Kat style. When her mother and Galen were killed, It was loud and public. So she could play on the sorrows of the people. Hanse death (although tragic,) Was not public enough to suit her needs.
It is well with in relm of possablties. But on the surface, I would say no.
And I reply:
Hanse's death not being public would serve Katherine's ends (if she was indeed the one behind it). Because it happened in private, and Victor was the one who discovered it, some have whispered that it was Victor that killed Hanse. Add that in to the rumors that Victor had Melissa killed so that he could take her throne as well, and we see a pattern develop: the story of Victor the patricidal and matricidal power hungry maniac. Add in that Peter is in exile somewhere (at Victor's "request") and Arthur's sudden death, the only one standing between Victor and total control of both thrones is Katherine and Yvonne. Yvonne has shown herself to be incapable of the job; and it was Victor who placed her on the throne as Regent while he was gallavanting about. Which means Katherine is the only one with the skills, lineage, and morals to lead the reunited FedCom.
At least in Katherine's twisted mind anyway...

Ronin. It is spooky that you came up with that. Because it would be what Kat is thinking.
But I would still have to say no. It just is not her style to leave that much to the imagation.
(Plus there was no way to know that Victor would find Hanse )

Victor was returning home from fighting the Clans (gee, that would make twice that Kat made Victor's homecoming from teh Clans bittersweet). Kat had to know that Victor would want to see Hanse first thing. And it wouldn't be hard for the little minx to arrange for Hanse to be left undisturbed while the poison or whatever takes affect and Victor finds the body.
Maybe Katherine started out subtle and became more overt as her patience wore thin. Either that, or her earlier successes made her feel like she could get away with anything, and she became bolder in her actions. Either way, I see a pattern here.
